  1. Nintendo’s Retro Studios will reportedly invest in a new $500k HQ to aid its Metroid expansion | VGC WWW.VIDEOGAMESCHRONICLE.COM Texas-based firm will move buildings next year… Growth is good. We seldom hear a peep about Retro and Metroid Prime 4 these days. Will this game even make it out on the Switch?
  2. AC Valhalla will use upscaling to get to 4K. Don't Worry, Assassin's Creed Valhalla Runs at 4K/60fps on Both PS5 and Xbox Series X WWW.DUALSHOCKERS.COM Assassin's Creed Valhalla has been confirmed to hit the same benchmarks across both Xbox Series X and PS5, ending any lingering questions. “I can confirm that Assassin’s Creed Valhalla runs at 4K at 60 fps on PS5 (upscaled 4K).”
  3. Honestly, dropping the creative director might be the best thing to happen to it. I love the art style and everything else about it we've seen. It's a very solid creative foundation. But they've been pretty forthright about discovering what this game would be through the process of making trailers. I'm still not sure if that's just terrible PR or an honest assessment of reality.
  4. Switch Pro, where are you? Worst performing Nintendo published title since Xenoblade 2.
  5. @TomCat To back up what I said earlier, here's a new statement from an indie dev with a PS5 dev kit. Lays it out plain and simple. MS is more about Xbox-PC parity within the development environment, Sony is more about hardware specific solutions. He drops a few more details on PS5's approach to VRS, sampler feedback streaming (as MS refers to it), etc, but I'll reserve that for the PS5 thread.
  6. I've had a fun time with this so far. First time playing a Warriors anything, so I might not be so jaded. But it's really nice to be in this world again. Almost makes me forget the performance issues, which are consistent. I think they might be pushing the Switch too hard here, though it's still playable and fun. I might wait for an upgraded model to buy this.
  7. “We did two different modes in the game: cinematic mode which is a native 4K, which looks stunning, at 30 frames per second; and performance mode, so you can play a dynamic 4K at 60 frames per second. That is going to give you smoother animation is going to give you a little of that edge [in combat].” “If you like the starkness and the despair of the original PlayStation 3 version, then we have a bunch of filters that you can choose from and play the game [that way],” Moore said. “So if you want to play the game in what we call the classic filter, which harkens back to the days of the PlayStation 3 and the look at that title, then put that filter on. If you want to play in black and white, play in the noir filter. It’s all there in the options. If you don’t want to play with our camera, you want to play with the original camera, turn the original camera back on. […] I would say with the filters though, if the fans could just play the game the way that we made it so you can see how we take advantage of the power of the PlayStation 5, then I would ask that they would do that. I’d be very grateful. Though after that, play the game how you like to play it, please.” Demon’s Souls on PS5: Here’s what’s changing WWW.POLYGON.COM New details on photo mode, multiplayer, World Tendency, and more 60fps will be the way to go.
  8. Still assumes these are two different projects, not a collaboration. We could expect some tweaks between Series X and PC regardless. What's to say Sony couldn't do something custom with upscaling again? They're custom building plenty of things as is. But hopefully AMD's solution is good enough that no major tinkering is needed for either platform.
  9. Whatever API Microsoft and(/or) AMD is developing wouldn't be exclusive to one GPU vendor.
  10. They're likely one the same. Microsoft's referred to their ML tech as "super resolution" in the past. At AMD's conference, its in the same slide as the DX12 logo. And today is the first time Microsoft said anything about upscaling techniques and the Series X.
  11. Actually, it's intended for RDNA2 still. AMD’s new Radeon RX 6800 XT promises to go head to head with Nvidia’s RTX 3080 WWW.THEVERGE.COM AMD has three new graphics cards
  12. AMD made Intel CPUs much less desirable. DLSS still makes AMD GPUs much less desirable. Worse RT performance for the price too for the 6800XT, going by the leaks. We're still waiting on the moment you think is here. What's exciting here is the promise of things to come, and catching up on the traditional rasterization end. Like the next-gen consoles, these cards could feel a whole lot better once 'Super Resolution' is a thing. As others have said, it also puts pressure on NVIDIA in the next round to price competitively.
  13. Waiting better fit’s MS, so it’s yours by default. They get to beg the question that Sony jumped the gun, when it's just standard practice in the console space to customize. I’m happy that these console will finally come out to clear the air. I’m totally ready to see what it all means in terms of MS’ advantages.
