  1. @Xbob42 1. Launch EGS through Steam. 2. DS4Windows. Or Launch EGS through Steam. 3. I don't care about achievements either. 4. They have cloud saves now. 5. You answered it yourself: search on Reddit. Not hard. 6. Use Playnite/GoG Galaxy/Launchbox. Steam library is hardly ubiquitous with how fractured the PC landscape is now. There's better launchers than Valve's. Plus, you can still configure them to launch stuff automatically from Steam to get the overlay and DS4 support. 7. Disable push notifications. It's in the settings. 8. See 1 and 6. IMO, there's too much free good stuff off Steam to stick only to it. Look into launcher alternatives that automatically aggregate. It makes adding EGS/Amazon/etc friction-less.
  2. What features of FF7R will the EGS version be missing and why should you care? ... I won't defend Epic for buying exclusives or the lack of store updates. But I have dropped $5 there on occasion when their $10 coupons come around, for single player stuff. That's the only time when their mantra about being pro-developer + pro-consumer made any sense.
  3. I've got more than a 2k game library at this point, over 1k of those on Steam. Lots of bundle trash and freebies though. Not counting the itch.io BLM bundle games either. This list is my PC games I've managed to create preview videos for, for use in Launchbox big picture mode. If anyone wants spliced trailers/gameplay footage for any reason, let me know...
  4. No need for me to pick up the older ones on PC. I think they're 4k/60 on the Pro? Already have them. I'll be interested in KH3 on PC at some point. The Remind DLC has never been under $20 or packaged in, plus KHIII has performance issues. By the time I actually get around to these games hopefully it'll be dirt cheap.
  5. The most exciting of those games were stacked in the first 12 months, and Smash’s input lag was a killjoy for me. There has been some decent stuff since. But too many remakes or Wii U remasters for my liking. Other than the first year, their output has felt almost like a continuation of the Wii U. Not bad, but not quite what I’d expect from their divisions folded together.
  6. The Switch eShop has some of the most consistently high prices for games on any platform. Your gold coins are largely offset by a 'Switch Tax.' Take Ori & the Will of the Wisps as an example. It's $9.89 on most digital stores this week. On Switch, the lowest it's been digitally is $25.49. Nintendo's own discounts are also piss poor compared to their past. The only major exception is Mario & Rabbids, but I suspect Ubisoft had some say on that one.
  7. The context this post is lacking is everyone else who does this. To set up sequels, next episodes, new entries, build intrigue, etc. It's stock.
  8. I'm 30 hours into FF9 right now... I'm finding it respects your time much less. Still enjoying it though. FF7R's padding didn't really bother me other than the combat rooms before Airbuster.
  9. Sounds like modern Disney. Scene is lacking a lot of context we don't have yet. Either way, its a villain trying to tempt the hero figure with power/escape.
  10. It probably won't. Being good enough to replay is a tough sell for any RPG. I'll probably rewatch some cutscenes or walk around Wall Market a bunch before the next one is out. Hard mode seems like it could be good, but I feel like it'll just make the next game seem too easy at first.
  11. On the surface, I definiately prefer the frictionless nature of gold coins vs the effort it takes to get discounts on Steam. Even when I happily game Valve's trading card system as a hobby of sorts. The issue with Switch is that Gold coins feel like they're already built into the game pricing. And then some. It's marketing trickery to make you think you're getting a deal. In reality, it just makes eShop sales suck harder, and pressures you to spend coins there before they expire. I'd take Player's Choice back in a heartbeat.
  12. Halcyon 6 Starbase Commander - About Halcyon 6 WWW.EPICGAMES.COM A retro space strategy RPG with base building, deep tactical combat, crew management and emergent storytelling. Halcyon 6: Lightspeed Edition is a massively enhanced version of the Award Winning indie strategy RPG, Halcyon 6. https://freebies.indiegala.com/syberia Next week's EGS Giveaway is RAGE 2 and Absolute Drift.
  13. I definitely prefer 3D World, for both the boss fights and the difficulty of the bonus challenge levels. 3D Land is pretty forgettable to me outside of the final Bowser encounter and the railway sections.
  14. Basically, the reviewer doesn't think Super Mario 3D world is very good. It fails in multiplayer and lacks precision to them. And everything in Bowser's Fury is cats. Most people are bound to disagree on the former, at least. It's not thought of as a black sheep generally. Bower's Fury doesn't look like 3D World DLC to be honest. It's seems more like a half sequel to Odyssey.
  15. Xenoblade 2: Torna Hyrule Legends Because I'm waiting for an upgraded Switch.
  16. I haven't played a Nintendo game online since they put up the paywall, and may never again. But that's also every console now.
  17. I've bought precious few 3rd party games on Switch, but those I have had such a strong pull with portability that I'd rather own them there than anywhere else. (ie: Hades, Slay the Spire, etc) It's also a pretty neat 2-player pick up and go machine, if you don't mind the control set-up. I don't think anyone needs to defend buying games for their Switch instead of elsewhere. It's very much a device of convenience and options. It just sucks that the price of games does nothing for it. I find that so much more disappointing than the spec sheet.
  18. I don't ever watch anime, so figures. It's the manipulative angle which gets me. Perhaps because I've known people that it's happened to and the problems it creates. That's not to take anything away from the issues that Japanese culture has with sex, and those in the West who idolize them for it.
  19. The sexual stuff is never surprising, I agree. But is there some kind of culture norm in Japan where 'home is where the beatings are'? First I've heard of it. But also, this is a lame excuse. They don't even do anything with it, just condone the abuse in effort to develop a different character. It's poor writing at best.
  20. Parts of FFIX have aged wonderfully. But then every once and a while you run into something that's just... oh boy... TL:DW: Son returns to his foster father after looking for his real dad. Foster father proceeds to beat him, then smiles like a psychopath. The adopted son then realizes that this is his home, the place he belongs. How the hell did people excuse this on release? I'd suspect whoever wrote the script has some deep seated personal issues. Fuck child abuse.
  21. We Were Here on Steam STORE.STEAMPOWERED.COM Lost in a frozen wasteland and split up from your partner inside an abandoned castle, the only possession you have left is a walkie-talkie with a familiar voice on the other end. Can the two of you find your way out in time?
