Plus I owe it to my media English high school teacher. I was suppose to of read The Hobbit back some 23 years ago, and never did.
ort
Watching the hobbit movies is like reading the book in the same way that buying French fries at McDonalds is like going to France.

Also, you can read The Hobbit in the time that it takes to watch the first movie in the trilogy.
ort
Watch the 70s animated Hobbit. Does such a better job of capturing the tone and heart of the story. The hobbit movies are a fucking travesty.
Amazatron
Not interested in being saddled with The Hobbit movies, so I’m not gonna wait for the uber edition. The bare boned LOTR 4K will do just fine for me.
TwinIon
I have to wonder if working on They Shall Not Grow Old changed how Jackson went into the remastering for these disks. Whatever the case, I'm very glad to hear that they look good. I'm definitely going to wait for a price drop. I've bought these movies at least 4 times, so I can probably hold off. Kal-El814
The ancient ass versions of these I got as digital download promos back in the day keep getting upgraded by Apple, so I kicked the tires on Fellowship last night and it looks quite good.
