Resigns as Party Leader, not as an MP. May is still an MP. When he resigns as Party Leader there will be a leadership race following whatever process the Party has to pick a leader. Fun fact: it's actually illegal to resign as an MP. You basically have to get yourself kicked out by being to appointed by the Queen to run a crown property.
