CitizenVectron
So, in this case does "cleanup" mean driving out the homeless?
b_m_b_m_b_m
I’m conflicted. On one hand the state monopoly on violence should be absolute. On the other fuck what the state is doing here.

SuperSpreader
One of the issues we have here is the "nice suburbs" bus the homeless there and dump them in Dallas. Dallas has a lot of shelters and services but most of them are declining assistance because it requires working to get clean. There's even a serial masturbator who goes door to door naked masturbating who is protected by activists.
SongbirdRanger
"This is unacceptable, this is not how we do things in this country" The hell it ain't. Back during the Great Depression, banks would repossess people's homes and at the auction, the whole town would show up with guns and force the auctioneer to resell the home back to its original owner for pennies. These were called Penny Auctions. Look it up. Almost all the privileges we have in this country only came through rioting and armed protest. If you don't like it, boohoo the poor brandishing firearms are the reason we have an 8 hour work day and days off. If you wake up and go to work, you ought to remember your roots and pay heed to the trials and tribulations of the Labour Movement. This article was written by someone who doesn't think the working man deserves a gun or a say in his life, but that police have the right to violence and that said police violence should be covered up by calling them "City workers" meanwhile giving the same excuse as was given during the Nuremberg Trials, "They were just doing their job". Oh yeah? Well I don't agree with their job, my neighbors don't agree with their job, and we're all going to stand up for ourselves. The bullying ends once we organize together and arm ourselves, and every time we do some ninny writes an article about how nobody but cops need guns, i.e Cops should be a standing military and us working folks should just get in line or face the consequences. Kudos to the Elm Fork John Brown Gun Club. You are the real people this country needs, not some do-nothing government journalist pissing and moaning about why the working man can't help his homeless compatriots by keeping the cops from stealing their property. Just an FYI, but workers movements still succeed in places where the works don't have guns, but the police do. That's because it's not violence that achieves their aims, it's the implicit threat of violence. Not to say violence can't or doesn't achieve those aims, only that it's not necessary, typically. There's been good research on the fact that it's the amount of people that publicly demonstrate against something that achieves results. I believe the number was something like 4% of a region's public turning up on the streets for a cause will typically be the tipping point for government to take action.
