CastletonSnob
My computer is 7-8 years old, and I plan on buying a new one. What should I look for if I just plan on browsing the internet? What's the price for a good computer?
Pikachu
Are you getting a desktop or a laptop?
Keyser_Soze
What's your budget?
CastletonSnob
I plan on getting a desktop. The computer I have now cost $750. I'd like a computer similar to the one I have now. I'd be open to a computer that cost between $400-$600.
Keyser_Soze
You could get a Dell Inspiron for $419.
CastletonSnob
I like to watch stuff on YouTube and streaming services. I don't play games on my PC much, and the games I have aren't that demanding (TF2, CS: GO, etc).

You can’t really get much cheaper and it has the main specs mostly what I’d look for buying a general purpose desktop. I would buy a 8gb ram stick and swap out the 4gb ram stick in it for a total of 16gb and you’d be set for awhile for general use

CastletonSnob
Bought a new computer yesterday because my current computer says 100% disk usage, and I'm paranoid that it's dying. But my computer's actually doing well right now, so I'm having second thoughts. But lots of people buy new phones or computers they don't really need, right? Jason
It's too bad we lost all the forum history because I can't check to see if this IP matches the IP Lee used to use...does anyone remember if Lee ever said where he lives?

CastletonSnob
I figured, "is it really worth it to put in a new hard drive or an SSD in a 7-8 year old computer?".
