Television The Mandalorian OT - This is the Way

This is such a weird criticism. I don't understand why this stylistic choice is such a massive deal. I just watched Yojimbo for the first time and it tilts back and forth between blatant severed limbs and blood spray and wild swinging swordfights with no apparent blood whatsoever. It's not a problem. -

The town is there clearly supporting a factory. Likewise, the planet has been used for resources in support of the Imperial fleet before, and now another unknown resource-hogging effort that the Magistrate was in charge of. Last episode, Bo Katan said it was a forest planet. The image of the planet as the Razorcrest approaches shows that there are scars in the planet where things are burning. Clearly, the land around the village is completely barren. In the background long shots, you can make out some industrial sectors and smoke stacks: Calodan | Wookieepedia | Fandom STARWARS.FANDOM.COM Calodan was a walled2 city on the forest planet Corvus. After Din Djarin helped Bo-Katan Kryze seize weapons from an Imperial cruiser, Kryze told him that the former Jedi Ahsoka Tano could be found in the city.1 Upon arrival, Djarin and his foundling were escorted by members of the Scout Guard, the Magistrate's brigade of faceless enforcers in the city led by the gunslinger Lang. Elsbeth tasked Djarin with killing... -

In terms of playing catch-up, most everyone needs to watch all 4 seasons of Rebels between now and next Friday lmao. -

AAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH Me the entire time: -
I invited my neighbor (who has been working from home and out of the public aside from grocery stores since pandemic began) to have lunch with me. We ate on my patio table. It was great. Just got done with a family zoom call. So I'm chilling for the night. Overall, for a weird Thanksgiving, it was pretty good. Now let's hope no one in my family was exposed.

This hints at something that I've seen going around since the last episode come out. With this discussion, and with the potential cloning experiments hinting at some connection to Palpatine. People are dreading Mandalorian making a connection to the sequel trilogy and it somewhat acting as a prequel to that. In other words, it explaining things that either didn't need explaining or we just don't want to be reminded of. To be sure, the sequel trilogy ended with a big, wet, rotten fart and plenty of us just don't want to have that revisited. And I don't really think that's the way the show is going. There may be mentions or hints at things that could develop, but I don't think the show's point is to draw that direct line. It's doing such a good job of building the post-empire world. But it's also not really being heavy handed or overt in pointing to the sequels directly. This is partially because that isn't the story it's telling. I think a lot of fans are dreading this happening, though, and that's the prediction they're projecting on the rest of the show. While I'm a bit wary of an overt link to the First Order or Palpatine's return, I'm content to wait and see. I'm very excited to see the rest of the season and the story it's telling as opposed to dreading the story people are worried it might tell (but has not so far). -

It's dopey and everything but the grossest thing is how Jeb! misgenders the Room Rater after being corrected. -
Turkey Day Update: My dad called me to see what my plans are in order to coordinate when we have our small Thanksgiving dinner. It would be me, him, my brother, and my dad's girlfriend. Well, I did some bubble checking. My dad goes into work this coming week as he teaches at a vocational school. His girlfriend works at a bank and manages like 10 people in the office. Who knows what my brother is doing, but he's no chud, so he isn't flippant about it. The big red flag came when dad said he'd be going to his GF's for Thanksgiving dinner on Thursday. She's having 8, possibly 9 people gather--one of whom is her mother who lives in an assisted living facility (!!). Two others are her sons who ARE chuds and think the whole thing is one big hoax. And they work construction. Thanksgiving with Dad would be either Friday, after he joins in with the 9 person meal, or Wednesday, which also includes his GF who will likely have her sons in her house at some point through the week. I told him I'm likely going to bow out this year. And depending on if my brother goes to have dinner with them Wednesday without me, that would mean seeing him (and staying in the same house with him) that night and Thursday. I'm leaning very heavily towards not going home for Thanksgiving. This fucking sucks.

I enjoyed it. It felt a lot like a live action episode of Rebels, to be honest. Loved the twists and turns and reveals. Can't wait for the back half of the season. -
I think I'm going to take this weekend and really keep an eye on the numbers and consider whether or not I'm going to have thanksgiving with my family or not. It would be me, my brother, my mom, and my 94 year old grandfather Thursday, then me, my brother, my dad, and my dad's girlfriend the next. But my dad will be attending one on Thursday I have no information on. I'd be staying at my mom's house both nights. I don't know if I'll be exposed between now and then to bring it home. I don't know if my brother or mom will be exposed. The gravity of the decision is finally hitting me, I think. I'll be able to make a better decision come Monday.

You can see a production crew member in the episode! Whoops!
