  1. I don’t normally care too much about music in games. It’s not something I note too often. I appreciate a good zippy platformer soundtrack pushing things along but it’s not a crucial piece for me and I often play games with sound very low while watching tv. There are some exceptions like I love the music in the recent Ys games. And I think the Nier Automata soundtrack is phenomenal. One of the few games (again, besides Ys) that really made me take notice. So all that is to say that I think it’s impressive that they nailed that aspect here. Because like they are trying to copy Nier Automata in a way by having a good soundtrack. But you can’t like..just say ok we are going to have a good soundtrack too! To actually hit that goal is quite an accomplishment.
  2. Im not into sports but tbf I am into sports games such as tennis. I am also giving it some time and willing to learn and I think it’ll be worthwhile but I do wish it was a new VT World Tour we got instead of this.
  3. Yeah I think you’ll definitely dig this. Just wait until you know nobody will be coming over to play it :P Yes, it is. - One nice little thing I’d like to call out is that you can hold down the button to pick items up and pick up everything collectible you run by. I appreciate when games do that mechanic that way.
  4. lol no I skipped right over that cuz i just wanted to play some tennis :P I plan to check it out later but for now Im just working on timing and leveling up.
  5. Yeah this is a good ass looking console game. Might be my last ps5 regular game before the pro comes out so I’m glad they nailed down a good IQ/performance here. A lot of the current gen only stuff on console is just too rough IQ wise for me when there isn’t a pc day1 release to not just wait. I fully blame amd for this. Game has such a good opening and the music is already A+++. Art design minus the humans is top notch. Nice windows for perfect party/dodge and an air dodge have me hype on the combat early on. As far as the controversy surrounding the game, I mostly just think the main character design is dumb. It doesn’t ruin the game for me but it’s just stupid and they should make a normal character next time because man what a self inflicted wound. I don’t think it’s as big of a part of the game as some people make it out to be, but also it’s not something worth celebrating and is a negative. Game has a good spacey weirdness to its atmosphere. Pretty hype. I think John’s DF review does a good job summing up why this one ended up sparking my interest. Just a really solid performing action game without any major issues, 20hour~ length, random bits of varied mechanics sprinkled throughout. And lots of vibes.
  6. I mean it doesn’t seem like there is thattttt much to learn just to play regularly though it is difficult. I think you may be over complicating it cuz you just wanted to play some arcade tennis asap :P Try just playing some exhibition on very easy with the pros and start getting into the zone on timing imo
  7. @Biggie what’s funny is our big issue with Mario Tennis Aces, the last real arcadey tennis game, was also being too difficult. Who decided tennis games needed to be punishing?? I think this will be worth learning tho, it’s a lot of fun once you start getting the hang of it. Also exhibitions where you play as an actual player are much easier and can be pretty much played as VT on easy difficulty.
  8. Fuck training, just start my career and be okay with getting your ass kicked as you learn. You do one training, one special activity, and one tournament each “month” so you will be doing tons of training as you play it anyway.
  9. Yeah the lighting and and animation and generally the courts look nice so actual gameplay is fine looking. But I don’t even know what happened with those models.
  10. I mean they both are so damn good :P Mario Wonder is slightly better if I had to pick and one of the best platformers period so yeah I mean get that asap
  11. I think they could have waited those two years and been the better for it though. It came out three years after FO4, we didn’t need a new one just yet. I think being further out would have helped it as well actually. But no npcs of all things is pretty bad for FO. Definitely paid to hold off and play this one later on though for sure.
  12. Quest 3 IS a fantastic product and price point. I wish that could be enough without having to try to do this terrible metaverse shit.
  13. Also speaking of dumb ways to launch FO games: Fallout 4’s New Update Removes Graphical Settings On Steam Deck KOTAKU.COM It seems all Bethesda did to get the RPG verified on Steam was remove the launcher doyyyyyyy
  14. Reading everything they’ve added to FO76 since launch though and what the FUCK were they thinking launching it like they did. They got lucky they might get another shot now because of the show. It took two years before human npcs?!?! And the subscription service came out BEFORE that?????
  15. Reminder that Fanatical still has that killer entire FO series for $25 deal going (includes all dlc). I already had everything else so I just picked up FO76 for $8 which I would say is definitely worth it. Been playing it as if it was a fully SP game so far and it just feels like new FO with all the improvements they’ve made since launch. Plays great natively on the steam deck, so im just pretending its a brand new handheld fallout game and it kinda rules.
  16. I’m not sure I’d say the MTX is great here, really wish 2k could find a way to tone that back some on everything they do, but you can definitely enjoy the career mode and other modes without buying stuff with real money. It’s a difficult game though, and part of why it’s so hard is surely to sell you stuff, and that is annoying. But eventually you’ll get your character leveled up just by playing and it’ll get more fair. I finally beat a tournament match in career mode last night! I’m getting better. To the games credit, while I think the AI on very easy is harder than it would be if not designed around mtx, my biggest issue is still learning the timing myself. It wants you to actually play correctly which is more demanding than VT.
  17. About 20-30min to do that type of stuff. I usually do exercises for about an hour before I get ready for the day though and about 30min to just lay in bed doing nothing before that. So usually between waking up and leaving for my coffee I like 2 hours
  18. Yeah they’ve had a pen for the ipad for quite a bit now. But it’s old at this point so I’m curious what the new one will do.
  19. Oh man this looks really fantastic. Just a super smooth well made action game with a decent amount of variety it sounds like. Soundtrack seems banging as well.
  20. There’s been a few patches and things are getting better. I’ve even beaten the first boss and made it to the major city hub! I think this game will be quite spectacular when it’s done. Performance seems better on deck and the new zoomed in view helps too. Getting closer there, but still had two really bad crashes where it crashed the entire unit so will be giving it more time before returning on there. On my desktop actually seems like a pretty solid experience right now though it will be nice once that dlss gets in. Overall things have gotten a little more fair and it’s easier to have a good time now.
