  1. I think Chris Evans actually set up a website to help people do just that but I never looked at it.
  2. It's a smart move. Drive down the Disney stock price with a bunch of terrible decisions, buy low, wait for a new CEO that's competent.... profit.
  3. I get where you're coming from as I've had very similar inner conflicts, but this would be the equivalent of watching the cow get stuck in a (lava) river and not pull them out. The difference is slight but the opportunity was there for Obi-Wan.
  4. I suppose you're right. Obi-Wan passive aggressively killed Anakin.
  5. Isn't deliberately not rescuing him when he's clearly in a dire situation sort of like killing him? I mean, you're the lawyer. :P
  6. Don't forget, he THOUGHT he killed Anakin on Mustafar. It's not that he's unwilling to do so, but yeah like @Spawn_of_Apathy said, he doesn't have to now. He feels Anakin is dead.
  7. I find it really hard to disagree with your points, but that finale... It was a damn fun watch. It's pure fangasming on screen, and self-indulgent and probably ill-advised. But watching Vader going all-out with a saber and seeing a MUCH more satisfying fight than we got in ANH was just LOADS of fun. This was definitely an anime fight, yes. Obi-Wan got his powers back the moment he realized what he was really fighting for and that none of the guilt or baggage mattered. Was it unearned? Ehh, maybe a little, but fuck me if I didn't enjoy watching Super Saiyan 5 Obi-Wanku kicking some serious ass. This was a good finale, but did it redeem the whole series? Definitely not. I felt like a LOT of time was wasted to get to this point. The series really failed to build up the momentum, and the only thing that made the fight at the end enjoyable was the history of the characters OUTSIDE of this show, which is honestly a failing. It worked (for me), but not because the creators of THIS show earned it. Overall I think this series will still be viewed as a disappointment with an ocean of wasted potential. The finale was just the little curl at the end of a lowercase letter.
  8. I haven't finished the available episodes yet so I don't want to read through this thread, but this scene right here. Is one of the most powerful and impactful scenes I've seen in any series. I've watched it multiple times now and it almost moves me to tears, and I think it's resonating with a lot of other people as well, as a sort of metaphor for one's struggles through mental illness. "I'm still here." Just incredible.
  9. I'd say Ewan looked fine but Hayden looks like he was up three nights straight at a bar in Coruscant.
  10. Well I was dead-ass wrong about the Grand Inquisitor and retconning the Rebels canon. But that's cool. Good job everyone who predicted he'd come back. Vader really does just get more and more powerful each time he's depicted in something. I don't mind that, because conceptually I think he should be one of the most powerful Force users of all time, and we really didn't see that enough in the OT. Plus it's just a lot of fun to watch. I agree with others though about the problems. The plot has zero momentum. It was always going to have a hard time because as @Kal-El814 said, we know where all the characters end up, and there's not a LOT creatively that you can do within those confines. I knew that going into this, and was onboard simply for getting more Ewan McGregor as Obi-Wan. This show is really about fangasm moments and it delivers on that to some degree. But damn I wish it were executed better. I'm sorry, but the acting quality, the inconsistent effects, the overly flat sets and just the writing and directing overall just isn't where it needs to be. This feels too much like the money grab it is, like so much of what Disney's stewardship of Star Wars has been thus far, instead of a passion project. Can't help but feel underwhelmed.
  11. This is definitely one of those shows that could only really work in animation, and I have no idea why anyone would want to do this. But hey, whatever.
  12. It was probably the worst episode so far, which isn't to say it was bad. Just nothing great.
  13. Yep, and even with a greater reliance on physical sets and effects, it's still not on par with ST4. It goes beyond that though. The quality of the acting is much more consistent on ST, and I think the directing and editing is better too.
  14. I started watching Stranger Things 4 and...I gotta say, it's kind of disappointing how the cinematography and overall production quality seems worse on Obi-Wan Kenobi. They really should aim higher if that's where the streaming competition is at.
  15. Oh for sure he's a tank, and arguably he traded his agility for greater force powers. It's hard to say he's not at his peak now, since Anakin as we last saw him wasn't that insanely powerful with his force abilities. I think when Padme died, he just ascended to this crazy level. Physically he definitely moves like Jason Voorhees though. :P Seeing him in this, as well as Rogue One, he's just undeniably badass.
  16. “When I left you I was but the learner. Now I am the master.” What are we assuming here? There's nothing to read into here, it's pretty blatant. I don't see how you can argue Vader isn't already a "master" in the scene where he's facing Obi-Wan here, and he's definitely not a learner. Again, what are we all assuming?
