  1. Rand Paul used Heimlich maneuver on choking Joni Ernst in GOP lunch | CNN Politics WWW.CNN.COM Republican senators were alarmed and relieved when they learned that their colleague Sen Joni Ernst had chocked during a party lunch on Thursday and was rescued by Sen. Rand Paul who... Self certified eye doctor - but doctor nonetheless!
  2. I find it hard to believe that most of the 2 million full-size trucks that were sold in America in 2022 are used for business purposes, or even for true truck stuff. They are mostly pavement princesses.
  3. Dark days indeed. But Ford has been selling the (mid-size) Ranger for 4 years now, and the Maverick for 2 years now. The Maverick is just about the same as the old Ranger.
  4. The amount of full size trucks I see running around the Vegas area, including heavy-duty trucks is quite high, and they are used as commuter vehicles. They aren't towing anything or have work stuff in the bed. They are used to get from their homes to their office or job site.
  5. "I really need to buy a $80k Super Duty so I can tow that parade float for the Macy's parade."
  6. Most people who buy full-size trucks do not use them for their intended purpose. I'm glad I traded in my F-150 for a maverick. It does everything I need it to (even the occasional truck-specific task) while getting good mileage and not being a burden to park. I'd happily buy a plug-in hybrid truck or even a fully electric truck if they made one that was the size of the Maverick. Ram is coming out with a plug-in hybrid 1500, but that'a full size, and I don't want or need anything that big.
  7. Nice. Taking out the train in the tunnel will make it extra difficult to get that line back open. Hopefully in snarls Russia's ability to get supplies from China in a substantial way.
  8. As far as SpaceX goes, yes they are bringing in a lot of VC money for both Starlink and Starship. But if those programs didn't exist, they'd still be the most prominent (and likely profitable) launch companies in the world. Over 50 of the 88 launches by SpaceX have been dedicated to Starlink, so the other 30 plus launches were for commercial or government customers. Their closest American competitor was RocketLab, which conducted 8 launches this year.
  9. I argue that the Olympics should be permanently placed in one location. Oslo for the Winter Games and Athens for the Summer Games. The entire process for determining who will be the next host city is incredibly corrupt and costs local taxpayers an extreme amount of money if that city is chosen.
  10. There's going to be a lagging effect of smoking related deaths as smoking decreases with younger populations. People will still die from smoking, but at a rate much smaller than now. Obesity and obesity related diseases are going to kill a heck of a lot more people in 20-30 years than smoking currently is.
  11. Then you are fine with a black market, and they corresponding violence that it brings. ...did any of you pay attention to the negative consequences of alcohol prohibition or the war on drugs has been on society?
  12. It was never about a person having control over their own bodies. It was about exerting control over society. Leftists don't really care about freedom.
  13. I'm disappointed, but not surprised, that the leftists of this community want to control other people's actions and what others do with their own bodies. A bunch of hypocrites.
  14. New Zealand scraps world-first smoking ‘generation ban’ to fund tax cuts | New Zealand | The Guardian WWW.THEGUARDIAN.COM Health experts say axing plan to block sales of tobacco products to next generation will cost thousands of lives I'm not a smoker, and I don't like being around people who are smoking, but this is the right move. Their body, their choice.
  15. Russia's definitely been saving up their drones and ballistic missiles for wintertime attacks of civilian infrastructure. Hopefully the Ukrainians can repel most of these attacks.
  16. Brazilian = Christian (good) Middle Eastern = not Christian (not good)
  17. I was reading that a universal talking point for anyone who is running for President down there. They can't let the Falklands go (even though they never even had it!)
  18. The body only contains 3-4 grams of iron. So, at best, an ASI will only be able to make 4 paperclips out of every person. Pretty inefficient.
  19. The first company to truly crack artificial general intelligence will either become a trillion dollar company, or will add another trillion to their worth if they are already a big player, like Microsoft.
  20. For the longest time, I couldn't place my finger on where I've seen Milei before. BUT THEN I REMEMBERED! He is the "6th grade leader" from South Park! 6th Grader Leader | South Park Archives | Fandom SOUTHPARK.FANDOM.COM The Sixth Grader Leader is a male sixth grader at South Park Elementary. He was seen for the first time in "The Unaired Pilot" and is one of the three recurring 6th graders from the first Seasons. He is one of several characters who made a cameo in his future self in the movie South Park: Post Covid. He was one of three recurring 6th graders during the show's first seven seasons, before being reduced to background...
