If it was a Hamas rocket, it's one they haven't fielded often (or at all) before. If (big if) this is the case, that kind of lends credence to the theory that the rocket experienced a RUD during it's boost phase, as it's an unproven vehicle. Solid rocket motors can fail without any forewarning. I think the most likely scenario is that it was an Israeli rocket that targeted that location. If they did target that location, I would think the most likely answer is because of bad intel. I don't think Israel is stupid enough to target a hospital that holds no military significance, as the blow back they would receive from western supporters would not be worth it.

Census should reflect that race isn’t real, advocates say - The Washington Post WWW.WASHINGTONPOST.COM The Human Genome Project convinced the vast majority of scientists that race doesn’t exist. Now a cohort of professionals and academics wants to change society. I've long held that race is a pretty poor way of describing oneself. I think using culture (or sub-culture) or nationality provides better detail about who you are and the way you think compared to race or even ethnicity.

Israel is committed to going into Gaza at this point. I would figure the humanitarian thing to do would be to give time (more than 24 hours though!) to allow civilians to evacuate. It would be a much shittier thing if they didn't do this, in my opinion. Egypt needs to completely open up its border crossing. It will be a lot easier to bring in and distribute aid in the Sinai then it would be to bring in that same aid into the densely packed Gaza.

I do worry that this will spiral out of control, to the point where sympathetic Muslim majority countries will offer more than moral support for Hamas, and in response the west offers more than just moral support for Israel. There is a risk this turns into a wider conflict, and that only helps countries like Russia and China deal with their own "problems" while the US and Europe are diverting attention to the middle east.

I really wish there was a better way to eliminate Hamas targets compared to the methods that Israel is using. While I have no doubt that the bombs and missiles they are using are very precise in what building they are trying to hit, the fact that they have to destroy whole buildings or even blocks of buildings means they are taking out a lot of innocent civilians too. Sending in ground forces would result in a lot more bloodshed among IDF soldiers, so they probably wont go through with large scale incursions until many of these buildings are completely blown up.
