I keep forgetting to check out Macbeth. I love the aesthetics of German Expressionism so it should be 100% my shit.

It’s truly wild that the movie is as good as it is. Even screenwriter Tony Kushner thought it was a crazy idea at first. Truly a case of a master filmmaker calling his shot ahead of time.

Laughed very, very hard for at least a good 30-45 minutes. I do feel like there isn’t enough variety in the stunts to sustain a feature length run time though. I think this is just an inherent problem of the series, it’s a format better suited for television. -

I remember when people were protesting Chic-Fil-A for giving money to anti-gay causes and Stewart basically shrugged on his own show and said he doesn’t understand why there’s protesting. I also like to reflect upon the time he held a rally in DC with basically no point other than to be against political extremism on both sides. That’s basically his shallow activism in a nutshell.

I mean he's a comedian primarily before he's an activist, so therefore he talks and acts like a comedian would. I think a comedian can participate in activism without being a full blown activist. A real activist doesn't resort to both sides nonsense and avoids saying anything too controversial that would lose fans.

I've seen six of the ten best picture nominees. I'll try to catch up over the next few weeks but I really have no interest in King Richard. Don't Look Up: 6/10 Nightmare Alley: 6/10 Dune: 8/10 Licorice Pizza: 10/10 West Side Story: 10/10 The Power of the Dog: 10/10

I feel like Don't Look Up is the one populist picks for the year. It doesn't have a chance but they wanted to nominate at least one movie that everyone has seen.

We almost got Morbius last month. I think some other stuff was moved to later over omicron worries. -

Stewart was never an activist, just just a funny man that people look up to because he comments on things that aren’t funny. He is always going to defend other funny men because he relates to them. He doesn’t see Rogan as the same media that he likes to criticize, but instead sees him as a kindred spirit Anyways his response is weak. Is he saying blame the algorithm for making Rogan big? Sounds like he just doesn’t want to criticize an old friend.

I have to go back and watch the first season. I haven't seen it since it aired but I do remember him enjoying the attention that he got as a youth pastor. He seemed to care more about approval from others than money. So his story this season with him running a body building cult makes sense to me. It's a jump but a reasonable jump. I do agree that this season feels different in the sense that it all feels heightened.

Wordle 228 5/6 ⬛⬛🟩⬛⬛ ⬛🟩🟩⬛🟨 🟨🟩🟩⬛⬛ ⬛🟩🟩🟩🟩 🟩🟩🟩🟩🟩 I can’t seem to get better than a 5, but today I was really close to guessing it in 4. -
I have to go back and watch the first season again but I always felt like Kelvin was in on the grift. Or at least I always saw the potential in him for grifting. There is a inherent phoniness amongst most youth posters that Adam Devine really tapped into. I'm not really surprised about his storyline for this season.
