  1. Most definitely Valve are using this as an idea to determine how many to make once they finalize the design.
  2. I believe the site said you will only pay the remainder once your queue is up, and you finalize the order.
  3. Same. Just got through for my reservation. Now we wait... My guess it'll be next summer or some shit when we get ours.
  4. I was referring to the old meme of the Nintendo Wii being 2-3 GCN's duct-taped together. But seriously, you can't directly compare FLOPS on the Switch to the FLOPS on the Deck because they're different architectures (and different generations of hardware), and one is older than the other. Same reason why I think people are underselling the power of the Deck by saying it's the power of a Base PS4 simply because that is 1.8TFLOPS vs. 2TFLOPS for the Steam Deck. 1.8TFLOPS in 2013 is a lot different than 2TFLOPS in 2021.
  5. Well, it's at least two Nintendo Switch systems duct-taped together in terms of performance, so by my rough napkin math, this makes sense.
  6. I was directly comparing the Switch to the Deck, and I personally think the Deck will be more ergonomic compared to the Switch. I need the Satisfye Grip for my Switch to make it comfortable in handheld mode for extended periods. I think while unconventional, that layout may not look as uncomfortable as it appears. And power wise, on paper it's 2TFLOPs if you account for the entire APU, but it's AMD's Zen 2 with RDNA 2, AND it uses LPDDR5 Ram. I would wager at 800p, with Ray-Tracing, it's probably between a Series S, and PS5 in a broad sense. And according to their spec sheets, APU uses up to 15w of power? Holy crap, dude.
  7. Still have my original copy on PC. Loved it back in the day, but I feel I'd be more willing to go back to MW 2012. Personally, I hated the "storyline" elements of 2005 Most Wanted, and much preferred the "do-as-you-wish" approach to Most Wanted, plus also discovering cars as you saw fit. It blended a lot of what I liked with Burnout Paradise, and modified it for NFS. This might be a bit of a hot-take, but NFS: MW 2012 is better overall than MW 2005.
  8. I don't know about that. Compared to the Highway scenes with the Buggy (which btw had no right to have such a V8 sound coming from literally what looked like a box as an engine), this felt concise, and less of a chore. I also loved when you got the gun attached so you could actually fight back, which made it all even sweeter.
  9. Even though this isn't a "shooter" in the traditional sense, it does take inspiration from the likes of System Shock, and Deus Ex, which I know there are a few of you like myself who love those games. Core Decay
  10. Hey. That's all I really want. Just give me Skyward Sword, but with some enhancements/improvements.
  11. Decided to look on Newegg for kicks, and see how much a standard USB flash drive costs these days, and dayum son, they have gotten cheap. I remember back in maybe 2004 or something I bought a 2GB Flash drive for 90 dollars. Now I can buy a 512GB for half that cost. The big question now is how much is the OLED screen in relation to the older LCD panel.
  12. I booted up my GBASP for the first time in about 8 years, and luckily the battery was still holding a charge well enough. I played through the entirety of Metroid Fusion while only charging it I think once or twice. I haven't done a scientific analysis on the battery life, but it's probably about 5-7hours. I noticed a couple times though the battery light was red, even though I had just charged it, or it was only on for about an hour. I bought my SP brand new when it came out, so for the battery to still hold a charge for nearly two decades is quite nice. Since I plan on keeping my GBASP, this could be a worthy upgrade. I also could consider an IPS-Panel upgrade if I really wanted to.
  13. Good thread here. Let’s see… Midtown Madness 1 & 2 Skies of Arcadia/Legends The Saboteur 007: Agent Under Fire & Nightfire There are others, but this came off my head, and based on what others have posted.
  14. More often than not, Nintendo does backwards compatibility, especially when it referred to their handhelds. I can see them continuing that trend with the Super Switch with a similar style of cartridge, but with faster read/write speeds. At the same token, I can see Nintendo encouraging UHS 2, or UHS 3 Bus microSD cards in order to maintain that similar read write speeds. Heck, in a further future, SD Express microSD is something I could see them implementing once prices go down. For a small ARM-based platform, developers will be begging for better read write speeds, especially now that Sony, and a Microsoft are embracing it. SD Express also uses PCIe, and they start at just under 1 GB/sec speeds. Not up there with PS5, and Xbox Series, but a step in the right direction. As far as price goes, it would indicate a new system is on the way, plus they could sell a new next gen Switch in that 350-400 price point. But sure, the Switch right now is still selling gangbusters, but it won’t last forever. By sometime next year, I could see the momentum to slip a little bit, followed by actually selling Nintendo Selects again.
  15. I’m thinking March 2023 will be the date for Switch 2/Super Switch. Prior to that, Nintendo will drop the price of the Switch systems, probably in 2022. And while I doubt it’ll happen, it’d be cool if Nintendo not only supported backwards compatibility for it, but certain games would run better on the newer hardware.
  16. Yup. I was aware of that, hence why I commented on it. I was so freaking happy Nintendo actually fixed that.
  17. Wolfenstein 2: New Colossus on Switch would sometimes go as low as 360p in handheld mode if I recall. So expect Cyberpunk at 240p for Super Switch instead.
  18. But what incredible tech for as old as it is. I was chatting with buddy of mine on Discord this morning with regards to the new OLED dev kits having more memory than the standard dev kits (8GB vs. 6GB). It then turned into a short talk about the ram in Nintendo consoles. For only 4GB of LPDDR4 ram in the Switch (3.2GB allocated for devs), it's incredible what has been achieved. Not only that, but go back to the Wii era with Xenoblade Chronicles (My #2 GOAT). That was accomplished on a mere 88MB of total Ram. Tegra X1 is old in hardware terms, but the fact it can churn out the results it can to begin with is astounding. I distinctly remember when Doom 2016 was announced for Switch, and some speculating it couldn't be done, or it was going to be a cloud version. It was the sequel to Doom 1993 on SNES in terms of the "impossible" port. I own Doom 2016, and just being able to Rip and Tear on the go is amazeballs to me. Switch has become my Doom machine, and only missing Doom 3, and Doom Eternal on it. Knowing all this, whatever Nintendo, and nVidia decide is best for the Super Switch will probably astound us all yet again, and create a new generation of "impossible" ports. We got Switcher 3 for OG Switch. I expect Cyberpunk 2077 for Super Switch.
  19. Be careful what you wish for. Super Switch with Orin chip would probably cost at least $400, maybe $450 if the OLED Switch model is anything to go by (pulling those numbers completely out of my ass like a chicken lays an egg). And then watch the shitshow of everyone comparing the Super Switch to the PS5, and Xbox Series consoles. It would be peanuts compared to that Resetera thread.
  20. I know prior to the OLED Switch announcement, and the "leakers" were all salivating at the imminent announcement of the Switch Pro that never happened, there was "talk" of Tegra Orin being lined up for the Switch successor. Not much is known at the moment about Orin, but it's said to have 2048 CUDA cores, which is a massive step above the Tegra X1's mere 256 CUDA cores. I have serious doubts of Orin being the chip, and find Xavier more in line with Nintendo's philosophy of withered technology in their hardware. Realistically, I could almost see Nintendo asking for a custom-tailored version of the Tegra X1 with more cores, more ram, and MAYBE tensor cores for DLSS. I sure as hell have been wrong before though. Back prior to the announcement of the Switch in 2016, I was completely against the idea of a hybrid console, and thought Nintendo were surely going to continue to split between consoles, and handhelds. But knowing that a few years prior to that when they merged both their handheld, and console divisions, the writing was already on the wall long before the Switch was announced.
