  1. I'll be keeping tabs on my reservation queue to see if I get bumped up into Q1, but I doubt I'll be getting a Deck before March 31st. Early June would be nice to coincide with my Birthday.
  2. Looks like Treyarch is going for that next-gen Fish A.I. that fully takes advantage of the SSD. Must be really something for them to delay an entire COD game for a year.
  3. Don't have a PS5, so Team Sonic Racing sounds like a good addition. Don't have interest in Co-op for GoT, and same with Ark.
  4. I tried RS2 on my newly updated rig (11400F + 3060), and was surprised to see it running very well. Mostly locked 60fps at 1080p with some minor audio glitches mostly.
  5. It was only a matter of time. Biggest test will be how well it can run Rogue Squadron 2 & 3.
  6. Personally, the biggest difference I see is not even graphics related, but loading. 3 Secs vs. nearly 20 is a massive improvement (and 20 secs isn't even THAT bad all things considered). Even if HFW had zero graphical changes, but was only improved in loading, I still would be impressed.
  7. Gives whole new meaning to cleaning out the pipes, amirite?
  8. Quite honestly, looking at the footage just proves how good the PS4 version already is. It's certainly not the generational leap we have seen in the past, though for a cross-gen game, that was never going to happen anyway. Those artists, whether with smoke and mirrors, or just sheer talent have shown what can be possible with older hardware.
  9. Platinum could do another Kickstarter like they did for The Wonderful 101. Sure, it was a pure cash grab, but it showed there was interest at least.
  10. The amount of transparency Valve is showing is staggering to me, and it's sad it's not the norm. "Once you buy it, it's yours." "Want to replace parts? Here are new ones you can buy." "We don't recommend you open it up, but that's what our Lawyers insist us saying so liability is not on us." "Don't like using SteamOS? That's fine, install whatever OS you want. It is yours after all." "Want to tweak settings? Sure, it's yours." I know I just upgraded my PC, but man, I'm excited to try out the Steam Dick.
  11. People got upset about how to do the equivalent of hypermiling for a Steam Deck? I don't see how that makes any sense, or why people would complain, but people be people I guess...
  12. Hmmm. The video is now private. Any idea what the title was beforehand?
  13. I'll believe it when I see it. That said, I desperately want it to be true, let alone the remaster be on both Xbox, AND Switch, plus cross-play, and all the business. Goldeneye is one of those many games that is unfortunately normally tied up in licensing issues, so if it does in fact release, it'd be a big deal. Same reason No One Lives Forever should be resurrected, and re-released for modern systems, but again, licensing issues.
  14. Wasn't expecting a Friday morning lesson on Hentai Artists going legit in the video game industry. Sounds like a spin-off of the movie Get Shorty with John Travolta.
  15. Well, I was referring to the XenoBLADE games. They've already done Xenogears, and Xenosaga, hence why it might be time to move to another Xeno game. Though, I still want a follow-up to Chronicles X, plus a Switch port. There's so much untapped potential in the world of Mira. Good to know. I have heard from some folks that the battle system can be convoluted with the Blades, and Drivers, but then I recall some gameplay elements were simplified from the previous two games, so two steps forward, one step back type of deal? There's also the Waifu's, which doesn't quite fit into the Xenoblade design imo, but they did hire Hentai artists for XC2, so I guess I can't blame them since that's their specialty.
  16. Maybe I should play XC2... The original Xenoblade is my #2 GOAT, and XCX was a ton of fun, so it's clear Xenoblade scratches that particular JRPG itch I look for these days. I am stoked for XC3. Given the Sept. release, this could give me plenty of time to play XC2 + Torna. Truthfully, I think this'll run a bit better than XC2, and probably even XCDE (I have played some of DE, and honestly it looks, and plays fine). Perhaps this'll be the swan song for the Nintendo Switch, and have it be that last hurrah before Monolith Soft move onto a different IP.
  17. But it hasn't been until now when Gaben has dipped his toes into the handheld market! Surely, Gaben will be the savior, and true answer to the Handheld Master Race. Hail HMR!
  18. Thanks for posting those. Can't wait to dive into all of these videos!
  19. I think given the small size of the LCD panel, FSR might be less noticeable in the blurriness department, plus we can expect future updates to make FSR a little bit more in competition with DLSS. One of the things I kept hearing with DLSS is 1.0 wasn't that great, and 2.0 was a massive leap forward in the tech. I think FSR, like Free-Sync before it, will be fine as it gets better over time. xCloud + Game Pass would be fucking mental really.
  20. This guy's channel has a playlist specifically for all his stuff on the Steam Deck. This guy is good, and he really goes in depth with some of the technical specs, and mustard of the SoC. I encourage everyone who is interested in the Steam Deck to watch his playlist: https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLdC3pP79J-A-GZ0d4dDTy2Hvq053uuSPr
  21. In terms of raw horsepower, no, but it is from a performance per watt perspective (at least when directly comparing the Wii U to the Switch), but not many seem to feel that's a relevant metric for horsepower of a device (I find it fascinating from a case study, and what is possible with the least amount of hardware capabilities). Though the fact it has been able to have many so-called "impossible" ports does show the potential of the hardware. Running a game like Doom Eternal at a fairly consistent 30fps at less than 15w is pretty impressive I would say. I doubt the Wii U could've run a game like Doom Eternal, let alone Doom 2016, but I do remember prior to the failure status of the Wii U, ports of Crysis 3, and Metro Last Light were considered. So perhaps with enough programming, and determination, it might've been feasible. I do firmly believe the potential of the Wii U's hardware was never fully realized due to its commercial failure, but it was still using a CPU that while heavily modified, and expanded for multi-core support, was still from the late 90s. PowerPC CPUs had practically fallen out of relevancy outside of the Data center, and AI markets, and it was certainly time for Nintendo to make a change, and luckily, nVidia had just the right chip for them. May have been considered "underpowered," but I struggle to think of another off-the-shelf chip that provided the power, the availability, and likely the price of the Tegra X1 for a device like the Switch. Maybe it truly did exist, but outside of a custom solution, which I don't believe Nintendo was willing to do that at the time, the X1 was likely the only chip (So expect Nintendo to modify the Tegra X1 for the Switch 2 instead of another off-the-shelf chip). At least the Homebrew community for the Wii U is quite active these days, and the system itself has shown to be a fairly capable Emulation machine. It's also the only Nintendo system that can play GCN, Wii, and Wii U titles natively without the use of emulation. It's a perplexing system that I remember defending a lot back in the day, and how it would be "fine." I've ate those word immensely over the years. Still own it, and probably will never sell it though.
  22. Just give us a remaster of the GCN version of Star Wars Bounty Hunter (PSN re-release doesn't count), and that should wet the appetites of some folks, as well as test the waters if such a game should continue.
  23. That is almost uncanny valley right there. It's been so long since the cancellation I've forgotten how 1313 actually controlled, or what it's intended market/purpose was. I was expecting Star Wars Bounty Hunter 2, and what it looks like is Uncharted Boba: A Fett's End. (I do in fact like the Uncharted franchise btw. Great comfort gaming IMO)
  24. From a gameplay perspective, it's as though the developers got inspiration from Uncharted. Depending on who you are, that's a good thing, or a bad thing.
  25. Half-Life 3 confirmed for Steam Deck...with HL2 being a test mule.
