  1. I think you're right! Election's a coin flip, but the one thing I'm sure of as of now is that there's no good position for Republicans to take after Roe v. Wade was overturned, besides just supporting making abortion rights the law since I don't even know if that would cost him support from his base at this point.
  2. Which is unpopular. And he was just touting a 15-week ban, which makes me wonder how many other positions he'll have before November.
  3. After all the hype, as usual, he fails to deliver anything meaningful. The story of his presidency (well, besides an insurrection). Trump declines to back nationwide abortion ban, says it should be left to the states WWW.NPR.ORG Pressure has mounted on Trump to make his own views on abortion public after the Florida Supreme Court allowed the state's six-week ban on abortion to go into effect. Major pro-life group: Trump "cede[d] the national debate to the Democrats." Rand Paul's chief strategist:
  4. these kind of statements make my blood boil. You can make profits and still lay people off for “growth.” the infinite quest for infinite growth only hurts the person without all the money.
  5. Live updates: US economy added a whopping 303,000 jobs last month, far outpacing expectations WWW.CNN.COM The March jobs report showed the US economy added 303,000 positions and the unemployment rate fell to 3.8%. That far surpasses expectations for 205,000 jobs to be added and underscores the ongoing resilience of the US labor market.
  6. No Labels will not field third-party ticket | CNN Politics WWW.CNN.COM The centrist group No Labels is abandoning plans to form a third-party presidential unity ticket for this year’s election.
  7. Biden touts inhaler price drops with Bernie Sanders: "Finally, finally we beat big Pharma" WWW.CBSNEWS.COM Inhalers can be expensive, particularly for those without insurance.
  8. Nebraska legislators buck Trump by blocking Electoral College vote change — for now WWW.NBCNEWS.COM Former President Donald Trump and Republican Gov. Jim Pillen have called on lawmakers to change the state’s Electoral College vote allocation to a winner-take-all system. Why Nebraska's electoral votes aren't doled out the same as most other states: It was voted against heavily: Trump wanted it changed because Biden easily won Nebraska's 2nd district in 2020: A 2016 effort to change it to winner-take-all almost succeeded: Winner-take-all falls short as two Republicans switch | Nebraska Public Media NEBRASKAPUBLICMEDIA.ORG This effort is likely to go nowhere this year.
  9. oh shit I just thought of something Most of us know about THAT scene in the original, and we know that scene's in Rebirth. I've NO idea how the scene plays out, but I thought wouldn't it be cool if, in Rebirth,
  10. Man, I lapped the fuck out of you somehow (deep into Ch. 10). Crunches are a bit harder in this one than FF7 Integrade, which seems to be the overall feeling. I didn't find it to be impossible -- a few tries and then I got it -- but I think the added 'Hold L2/R2 halfway and then press completely' can be tricky to do since it's tempting to just press the button the whole way. Concentrate on the green/yellow color difference, if I remember correctly, and it should make things easier to be ready to tap or hold halfway. Took me a few tries to do that one.
  11. FF6 is a game I played for the first time in 2007, after I played FF7 and X and X-12 and XII. I don't remember if I played 8/9 before or after, but I can say despite playing all these other FFs, I really dug 6 for a lot of reasons. @Fizzzzle ended up being a great secondary villain who gives one of my favorite lines.
  12. Oklahoma official with white nationalist ties is ousted in recall vote WWW.NBCNEWS.COM Judd Blevins, who marched alongside neo-Nazis in Charlottesville, Virginia, in 2017, lost his fight to remain on Enid’s City Council.
  13. I think people would find more success stories if they didn't let their pessimism pollinate and actually followed the buzz from these stories the whole way through instead of bumbling around about how nothing gets done.
  14. I disagree somewhat. Progressive issues have done well on the ballot, from restoring felons' voting rights (yes, state gov't found a way to circumvent that, but I'm talking strictly in terms of voter support), to $15 minimum wage, to medical marijuana. Kansas and Ohio wouldn't have passed abortion with a 60% threshold, but 57%/59% makes this seem doable for either. And helping turnout for down-ballot Dems would be helpful here, not to mention the effort of getting rid of Scott.
  15. One of those people who's been old all our lives.
  16. Lieberman was a former Senator, big Iraq War advocate (and endorsed John McCain in 2008 partly due to that and his friendship to him), and Democratic VP candidate in 2000.
