I beat the Biome 3 boss. Fuck those tie fighters -- they showed up on the main bridge you have to cross and killed me, making me waste an astronaut. However, I was able to get another due to a fabricator shuffler item. I went into the third boss with the works: a shield, a resinous shield, a damage siphon, a large integrity vial, an astronaut artifact, full health, and an augment that grants +15% protection and speed if you do an overload successfully. I never ended up using the astronaut, and I'm not sure if it was because of the shields and siphon or if I still would have had another health without them. Either way, there's something motivating about having all these items going into a boss and getting past a phase while still having a shield up, and a vial and astronaut at the ready.

Avoiding fights did help. I’ve gotten to the boss at the end of biome three now. I’m trying to get there with an astronaut at the ready, but the Tie fighters suck.

I feel really bad for people who lost their progress. And I feel bad for the devs because... shit, I can't imagine making a game that many are really enjoying and screwing up like that. Glad this was pulled quickly; right now, I'm just trying to help some people get their cloud save going so they barely lose any progress. I've lost much less progress in games and felt really crummy about it; losing a few dozen hours of progress would be devastating.

If you want to play it right now, I believe so. My guess would be if you just wait, the next patch will correct everything.

I think they removed the ability to keep going back to your ship to heal. May have limited it to once now so it doesn't get abused.

I don't think they're permanent buffs, but they allow you to have better artifacts and items available to you in subsequent cycles that you wouldn't otherwise have. I forget if this was a cube or not, but I received a consumable that allows the first two times you're damaged to be converted to obolites or something like that.

You get lots of ether for defeating a boss, and you get to use those cube fabricators that gets you a really good permanent item for future runs. Since they're usually a lot easier the further you get into the game, it can be quite worth it. I beat the first boss again and took little damage, but regardless, I healed back at the ship anyway.

I experienced one glitch where everything was black but I could still move. That was it, though. Hope the new patch keeps it that way!
