I've been clicking the final Place Order button for over 25 minutes. I don't know if I should give up

Are bots to blame for this or just a ton of people? I had no trouble getting a PS4 reserved back then. I feel like Sony announced to the world at E3 that PS4 pre orders were going live and I had no trouble. Now every retailer practically stealth launches the day before and everything is sucked up in literal seconds and minutes. Maybe social media is to blame for spreading the word like wild fire?

I was watching Amazon the last half hour and somehow I miss it?

I never saw bundles on Best Buy.

I've been trying all different things. I've even seen the product page say preorders are gone and unavailable to ship, plus no longer available for in store pick up.

I keep getting a message at checkout now that says "we found this item out of stock"

Did you just keep hitting the checkout button till it proceeded?

I found a tiny amount of people on reddit saying they preordered on Best Buy the second the link was active, before they had pictures of the console up and everything, and their order went through.

I searched Playstation on Best Buy and it actually searched, and it showed PS4's and PS5's. Hoping their system is coming back to life.

Lol @ Gamestop. It says you're blocked because you triggered their security to stop an online attack. Yes Gamestop, people suddenly want to buy something from you.

Any word on that "lottery" system on the Playstation website about preordering through them?

I like the Souls games but I never finish them. Demons Souls looks great but I would probably still pass.

I want the disc drive solely for blu rays. I was shocked by the price of standalone 4k blu ray players when I checked a few weeks ago. Like $170+. That $100 difference isn't so bad in that context.

I imagine when they patch in the better graphics then the licenses will differ. Just makes me wonder why they released the "Ultimate Edition" now instead of waiting for the new consoles to come out. Probably would have sold better on a console launch day anyway.

Mentioned in another thread but I got a 55" Sony X900H that's supposedly going to be PS5 ready with a firmware update. VRR and 4k120. We shall see.

Do you think we will be given notice as to when preorders will go live? Or will they make a price announcement and they will be immediately available? All the rumors and talk pointing at this week is annoying. I have to work and can't always check my phone every 15 min to see if there is breaking news.

Are you talking about taking the day off for the consoles release? If so I would take a day off like a week after launch. I took the day off for the PS4 and it didn't show up to my house until 6pm. Then you have the threat of servers being down. As exciting as launch days can be, they can be problematic.

One of the best things about my kids learning from home now is they don't have to go through that bullshit. I think they were doing 4 drills per year. They were really affecting my son two years ago in 1st grade. After the 2nd drill he looked me in the face when I was tucking him into bed and asked if somebody was going to come in the school and shoot him. I can reassure him in whatever way possible, but he still sits there night after night thinking about a horrible act like that. For a week or two after each drill you could tell he was really bothered by it.
