  1. Most high schools have registration agreements with local community colleges so kids who are further ahead can take college courses and earn credits while they’re still in high school.
  2. Is ‘hardcore’ just using yesterday’s word to start?

  6. That doesn't seem 'enforceable' in any real sense; once ownership is transferred, it's their asset to do with as they please. Maybe they had a gentleman's agreement or something like that, but why would the New York Times really care to keep up their end of the bargain if money was on the line?
  7. Oh they'll paywall it soon enough, they didn't pay that money for nothing.
  8. I wear a shirt (t-shirt when it is warm, long-sleeve when it is cold), pants, and socks. I am civilized, and it would be a tactical advantage in case I had to make an emergency escape. I do not shower before bed but I do shower every morning.

  10. I’m currently using a Dr Squatch soap that was made with Stone IPA; it is quite delightful. I also use a lot of the Duke Cannon beer soaps. They all smell and feel delightful.
  11. Think about it this way: would you rather have all of the vowels on the board (24 possible consonants to plug in) or all of the consonants on the board (5 possible vowels to plug in, not including ‘y’).
  12. No, because I meant context in terms of application (see my previous example). The rules governing vowels are more narrow than they are for consonants, so contextually they will be easier to plug in to complete a word.
  13. To go into this even further, think about the possible solutions for each: gr_p_ - You can safely assume 'e' is at the end given the structure of the word; from there you only have to pick between 'grape', 'grope', and 'gripe'. __a_e - Could be tons of words! 'Grape', 'crane', 'frame', 'trade', 'grade', 'brake', 'craze', 'chafe', 'phase', 'shale', 'whale', 'drape', 'shade', 'shame', 'shape', probably even more I'm not thinking of. You don't want to focus exclusively on either vowels or consonants, and when considering the balance you have to take into consideration that vowels will provide much more in the way of context clues.
  14. What do people primarily look at when they look for a place to live? They look at things like schools, amenities, infrastructure, etc. Those are are a reflection of economic investment, not the people who live in those neighborhoods. Poor people end up in poor neighborhoods, they don't create them.
  15. I've never used it because there are more consonants than there are vowels, and the ways vowels anchor words make them much easier to guess. If the word was 'grape', gr_p_ is much easier to fill in than __a_e.

  20. Not being born with spina bifida would have been pretty cool.
  21. That is a sign you don’t need it and should send it to me.
