  1. It's reassuring somewhat, but with what we've seen the last few days with ballots sitting around in the post offices in Florida, and the potential for the last arriving ballots to get thrown out in PA, that seems like exactly the sort of thing that would turn a win by <1% into a loss. I think he needs to win by big margins in most of the swing states at this point or it's going to be successfully stolen. Literally every 6 hours there's a new tweet from someone like Mark Joeseph Stern who knows what they're talking about when it comes to the litigation part of this that includes the phrase "this is alarming."
  2. It was an option put in place by the county, and the argument is supposed to be that only state legislatures can set rules for voting. Throwing out 100,000 votes that have already been cast based on this is obviously absurd (as he explains further down in the thread, the Texas SCOTUS already upheld curbside voting and this is only getting traction now through federal courts), but with a 6-3 conservative SCOTUS advantage they figure they can get away with it and they're just gonna go for it.
  3. Birx cedes White House turf to Atlas while hitting the road to spread her public health gospel WWW.CNN.COM Dr. Deborah Birx emerged from a meeting at the White House one day in late summer with a new resolution: Never again would she sit in a meeting with Dr. Scott Atlas and listen to him pontificate on the pandemic. Birx has basically invented a new job for herself where she just travels directly to affected states since the White House is no longer listening to her at all
  4. Very straightforwardly an attempt at stealing the election. I don't know what else you could possibly say about it.
  5. Like every 6 hours there's a new decision like this now. I'm not gonna make it through the next five days. I can't deal with this shit. And the election might not even be decided in five days! It probably won't be!
  6. The Florida mail in vote will come in quickly, I believe, so if Biden gets an upset win in Florida or Texas, then I think it'll still be over on election night with no drama. But if Biden absolutely needs PA or WI and SCOTUS finds any pretext to just stop counting votes there I think they'll take it.
  7. 1/3 of the court is also alums from Bush's legal team during Bush v. Gore
  8. I'm convinced now that Biden has to win by big margins in all of the important battleground states or else they actually will steal the election with SCOTUS's help
  9. I've always figured "open up everything but protect the vulenerable" has basically synonymous with, "I don't personally know anyone in a high-risk group" since the beginning.
  10. No one can possibly defend this shit on the merits. It's just a matter of whether suppressing these votes is more likely to help your preferred outcome.
  11. I see a lot of the classic, "Trump finally strikes new, more Presidential tone" takes are out on Twitter. Meanwhile, here's what actual voters thought.
  12. Even in the best of circumstances I would've gotten bad vibes from the place. The workspace I would've been in was like this drab little loft above a production floor with four people in it who didn't even really have cubes to themselves, just desks against a wall, and a bunch of random shit strewn about in the room. The dollar amount they'd have to offer me to work there would be pretty high. I'd already let them know I was declining before I tested positive. The CDC site says to just let get a hold of close contacts within 48 hours of your first symptoms, and the interview was well outside of that, so I see no reason to go above and beyond that because based on what I saw they're absolutely not gonna go above and beyond in self-isolating or anything.
  13. Yeah, actually. I got an offer for an in-person interview, which I really should have just said no to outright, but I had reason to believe that they were gonna offer me more money than I'm making which they did but uh... yeah, the mask enforcement there was clearly uh, lax, and the office basically felt like one giant plume of aerosols. It was easily the most high risk place I've been in since March. Suffice to say, I'm not gonna work there.
  14. Welp, I got it. I woke up with a fever on Monday and my positive test came back today. It's been an exceptionally mild case, fortunately. Have not really had a cough at all. Mostly just fatigue once the fever went away, which it did within a day. Seems like I got lucky.
