Meh. I am not bothered one way or the other. Some people definitely don’t deserve to live. I am also fine with an end to the death penalty, because I know it doesn’t help anything, but its not on my list of important issues.

Let's keep in mind:

 

1) Lee was executed via pentobarbital, which unlike the cocktail of drugs used to "put people to sleep," induces respiratory arrest. This is a fucked up way to execute someone

2) The family of Lee's victim specifically asked that Lee not be executed, as this would bring their family more pain. Barr said the execution was to provide justice to the victims and their families. I know it's not surprising that Barr is a lying, vaguely humanoid, and pseudo sentient pile of shit, but still

He was strapped to the table for hours before injection and the order that allowed him to be put to death may have expired hours before his execution so the state is just doing away with the pretense of legality for this!
