AbsolutSurgen
TLDR; this isn't about gaming chairs (he calls them office chairs, not gaming chairs, in the script). But, any chair with a gas piston (i.e. height adjustable). Every example in this video was from extremely cheap Chinese chairs in Asia (~$20), he used a term similar to "black-market chair" as the ones that failed seemed to be made with uncertified pistons (i.e. that don't use Nitrogen, etc.) If you don't want to have this happen to you, don't buy $20 height adjustable chairs in China.
XxEvil AshxX
So don't flop down in my chair like a 300 lb sack of potatoes. Got it.
Littleronin
Seems like a decent post from the comments section Quote Instead of encouraging people to go out and check their chairs and even buy new ones I think it would've been better to mention there have only ever been 3 of these office chair incidents, and you covered all 3. Furthermore all 3 of these accidents, which like I said have been the only office chair explosion incidents, all happened in China. The most recent one happening all the way back in 2013, with no further incidents happening since, only one of the 3 resulting in death, and 2 of the 3 incidents taking place less than a year apart from each other. The likelihood of you experiencing your office chair exploding is about the same as you experiencing spontaneous human combustion (if it exists)
Derek
I didn't watch the whole thing, but is it about getting a piston rammed up your butt?
Reputator
Considering the millions of office chairs that businesses go through every year, and how infrequently this happens, I think you can rest easy on the sheer improbability of this.
