Nvidia is removing support for its GameStream service early next year on its Shield and Shield TV streaming devices.

 

What the fuck.

 

While I haven’t specifically seen it stated that this means moonlight no longer functions, I don’t see how it does unless they have some plan to build their own desktop side client.

 

Steam streaming is awful in comparison, and just like all the other streaming options in that it is compromised. Moonlight was the only one that felt native.

Im really hoping there is a lot of backlash and somehow the internet changes their mind here but I think it’s too niche :(

Apparently there is an open source program called Sunshine which allows you to use Moonlight (look, I didn’t name these things) on any gpu that replaces the need for geforce experience gamestream. So even if they get rid of that, Moonlight should carry on. PHEW.
