CitizenVectron Posted December 6, 2021 Share Posted December 6, 2021 It’s Official, Canada Has Rejected The F/A-18 Super Hornet As Its Next Fighter WWW.THEDRIVE.COM The F-35 and Gripen will be left to duke it out after the surprise removal of the Boeing jet from the competition. F-35 and Gripen are now going head-to-head. On the one hand, the F-35 would fit us into the American ecosystem. On the other, Saab has guaranteed that huge amounts of the Gripen's systems/frames would be manufactured within Canada (boosting our industrial base). My choice was the F/A-18, but I suppose that Canada's internal requirements for this acquisition was more geared towards supporting international combat efforts--which the F-35 would perform better at among these 3.
