  1. The only thing different between today's Republicans and those from the 80's is tone and the naked authoritarianism/contempt for democracy. Policy wise it's the same fucking party
  2. Possibly, though I don't follow this guy. RT'd or liked by mtsw or some one else similar in an urbanist sphere
  3. sf is too expensive and we have difi to thank for it
  4. The fucking dumbest thing about it all is that outside of texas and florida, California has more Trump voters than any other state. And the dumbass can't even realize that!
  5. It's not often that I agree on part with the dumb conservative Facebook shareables, but congress deserves to be drug tested and have that shit shared on the internet. We deserve to know!
  6. Wow why do you guys hate bipartisanship? This is what trump wanted to do, make democrat and Republicans come together to make America great again.
  7. Oh fun. Now one of my other sisters in law have tested positive. It's suspected that she got it at a fucking house party. Problem is, she's a dumbass. Got in a fight with her roommates a day or so ago, after being exposed, and went to my mother in law's house. Brother in law let her in not knowing she was positive. 3rd sister in law, who is due with her second child in a few weeks (not the one from my previous post) dropped her first kid (age ~2) off with mother in law while the covid positive sister was still there so she could go to the OB for a check-up. So now my mother in law, father in law(who has several comorbidities), and brother in law are in quarantine, while the sister in law who is extremely pregnant just "needs" to go out and return something to old navy. even her spouse has been told by his work that he's to stay at home as well. There's a reason why my wife and I moved several hours drive away from these people.
  8. "See, looks like mj legalization isn't as popular as the polls indicated, better not do anything about it and keep locking up kids for having a joint on them"
  9. Like the counter majoritarian stuff is not a bug, it's the central feature of their movement. How many "upstanding" or "respectable" Republicans in 2016 fell in line for "judges"?
  10. Right, but the point of stacking the courts with these goons is they can do the unpopular ideological hatchet jobs and Ted Cruz can keep his hands clean. The voting rights act being gutted in shelby county v holder was not popular by any means--the reauthorization in 2006 was nearly unanimous. But it served a greater ideological purpose.
  11. You folks ever consider that she and other conservatives think medicare (and the social security act generally) is unconstitutional?
  12. best way to ensure that your colleagues don't expand the court is by making up rules as you go
