Might need the unit above the drain/window so that gravity can continually drain the water out. since it's a portable unit it might not have the power to freeze the water on the outside of the pipes like in a home unit would if there's a problem with the compressor or refrigerant So yeah, try making it so it continually drains and see how that works.
