Movies Morbius - Teaser Trailer
skillzdadirecta replied to Pikachu's topic in The Performing Arts Centre
Yeah the closed fist thing used to annoy me too. A lot of old cartoons were like that, He-man, Thundercats etc. The only one I remember were folks actually used to punch each other was GI.JOE. That was one of the things I loved about that cartoon even though they did the whole laser gun thing too. And if you think The Punisher was inappropriate for kids what about Rambo? I never understood how he had a cartoon either. -

I HATED the 90's Spiderman cartoon... AND 90's Xmen cartoon too for this very reason. They gave the Punisher laser guns or some shit in the Spiderman cartoon. -

Eh.. looks okay. I remember when Morbius had his own comic in the 90's for a hot second. He was part of the whole Midnight Sons thing with Ghost Rider, Blade and a bunch of other horror themed characters. The comic was ok but I never liked the character that much. Hard to be impressed by a fake vampire in a universe where ACTUAL vampires exist -
Just the little bit i read in that Esquire story is better than what we got mostly because it built on themes established in The Last Jedi and moved the story FORWARD not backward like The Rise of Skywalker. If this is true, then it tells me that Disney probably got cold feet and brought JJ in to "hit the reset button" which is what he did. He still did it in the most clumsy way possible but unless that Trevorrow script was unreadable, there's no reason Disney wouldn't use at least SOME of these ideas in Rise of Skywalker.

You posted that shit with ZERO context. I didn't realize it was a copy paste job until someone pointed it out and even then it was like, "ok these words may not have been his own, but why is he posting them with no explanation?" Again I didn't really give a shit because the post itself was stupid as fuck. But don't pretend like people jumped the gun by assuming this is something you thought or agreed with yourself (which you still haven't clarified by the way) you posted that, by your own admission, to start some shit. Shit got started, the end. Let's just keep it moving because I still don't see what the point of you posting that the way you did was. -

In this topic? @johnny mentioned it and I mentioned the lack of female directors, which this year is actually the bigger crime, and that's it. Everyone knows this scary thing, no one is surprised... you mention it and move on. Nobody outside of Hollywood gives a shit about the Oscar's anyway. -

The funny thing is, was anyone really focused on the lack of diversity really? It was mentioned once or twice and then folks moved on and started to complain about other shit. Whether it was Jo's actual opinion or not, did this topic really need that post? I guess the libs got pwned again? -

I was saying hopefully he got that out of his system for THIS particular topic... either way I don't really give a shit. That type of commentary isn't even worth a response because it shows so many basic misunderstandings about how racism and sexism work and it's coming from a person who hasn't experienced either. OF COURSE he would be the best person to break that shit down for the rest of us idiot snowflakes. -

That amount of wrongness takes a whole lot of effort. It's not just casual ignorance. That shit is a choice. Better to just ignore it and move on... hopefully he's got it out of his system.
