  1. I've got a lot of criticism for Yang and his dopey ideas, but all of these are 100% on point. They aren't full solutions, but they are moves toward a solution.
  2. I'm curious as to where you see this. This is a daily data dump a guy makes based on state reporting data. Green lines are 7-day moving averages. We're flat.
  3. Numbers here are not decreasing. We've been holding steady in positivity rate (4-6%), deaths (about 10 per day), new cases (about 1,000 per day), recovered cases (also about 1,000 per day), and as a consequence of those last two, we've had a steady number of active cases of about 12,000 to 13,000 since February. Here, it's not going down. We've reached a stasis.
  4. Tennessee just lifted all our restrictions. Two cities have indoor mask mandates, but that's it. The governor even rescinded the ability for counties to establish mask mandates. Pandemic's over.
  5. I'm interested in seeing the list of good things.
  6. Okay, so whatever DARPA is working on regarding our 6th gen fighter jets.
  7. The closer we get to the Wild West or Star Wars' Outer Rim, the more badass the country gets. So whatever.
  8. My local dumbass news station run by Meredith Corp decided to air this ridiculous story about some woman who "became paralyzed" after getting the Pfizer shot: https://www.wsmv.com/news/woman-lies-paralyzed-in-nashville-hospital-says-it-happened-after-she-received-pfizer-vaccine/article_78f1b8fa-a4a0-11eb-af84-3311a4f153c0.html?block_id=994460 Pfizer sent in a comment that basically said "we didn't identify paralysis as a thing that happens." The video is wild too because the anchors are covering this story with phrases like "we don't want to cause alarm" or "we believe it's important to cover all sides!" They then dug into the self-reported reaction database that people can fill in all on their own and that resulted in 7 out of 16 million doses. And it was all punctuated with "the vaccine is safe and effective. Covid has killed far more." And if that was it... why fucking run the story in the first place? The lady is epileptic. She says she didn't have a seizure, but I'm pretty sure post-seizure paralysis is totally a thing. Like... Don't run the fucking story if it's just going to be interpreted as "the vaccine might paralyze you."
  9. I'm staying in a hotel for the first time next Monday and Tuesday night on a work trip. I'm kinda worried about exposure, even though I'm fully vaccinated and will have my full immunity by then. And I'm going to a wedding in the middle of May. It feels weird getting back to "normal."
  10. This is from my local paper: Man in Nashville police custody died from 'excited delirium syndrome', autopsy shows WWW.TENNESSEAN.COM An autopsy shows Boyd died as a result of excited delirium syndrome with contributory factors of "cocaine intoxication" and brain hemorrhaging. "Excited Delirium Syndrome" doesn't exist and the cops make that shit up to blame people dying in their custody on literally anything besides being in their custody. But that didn't stop the cops and the paper from getting an explanation laundered through a doctor who is associated with Nashville's fire department: TL;DR is that the cops tased this guy and that gave him a heart attack. 11. The goofy-ass "Good morning!" at the beginning was amazing. And it just got better from there.
  12. In this case, I think it was a press leak that got Democrats really fired up to win political points. The intel community routinely rates information on how believable or likely it is. People use it for their own political purposes, devoid of the consideration of how true it might be.
  13. U.S. Intel Walks Back Claim Russians Put Bounties on American Troops WWW.THEDAILYBEAST.COM It was a huge election-time story that prompted cries of treason. But according to a newly disclosed assessment, Donald Trump might have been right to call it a “hoax.” Whoops!
  14. Guys, the US uniform fucking sucks. It looks like a weird Nazi sailing team. The Canadian uniform is actually super awesome.
  15. I love that Canada's 'uniform' is just what Zap Rowsdower wears daily.
  16. Good god. Eric Metaxas is full on dominionist. "That's very puritanical! I love it!"
