  1. Nothing is written. But it absolutely matters as to what his views are because that informs us of the spaces in society that cultivate those views and gives us a starting point with what to address.
  2. Yep! I go for my physical in a month, so I'll have a lot to talk about. Always fun to suffer anxiety about future heart issues and manifest those heart issues due to that anxiety!
  3. I mean in terms of direct cash plus all the additional assistance available to lower income people.
  4. After I signed up to get the vaccine, I kinda kicked the shame associated with using "asthma" as my reason. I don't officially have it, but I've had some issues in the past related to allergies, so I have an inhaler. BUT THEN I had a conversation with my brother who was freaking out about some stuff he learned about our dad's side of the family. Apparently all of my dad's relatives that have died have had heart issues. So I'm pretty confident that's what I'll have in store in another 20 years or so. And that potential is ABSOLUTELY a good reason to get vaccinated as SOON as possible. Because Covid will turbofuck you if you have heart issues. A lot of people don't know about their issues anyway. Just get vaccinated as soon as you can.
  5. I got my stimmy this morning. $225. I don't really need it, but that's a bad look to all the middle class suburbanites that got 10x that amount under Donald fucking Trump. I don't want to really reduce politics to "give more money to people than the previous president did" but for some people, this is going to be a slap in the face. And for others that benefit so much more under this bill than Trump's stimuli (ew) it'll be great... until it ends. Then it's "back to poverty to you dorks. Hope you enjoyed it!" These small tastes of actual social governance are so much more sour when they're so incredibly impactful yet made so temporary.
  6. To bring it full circle, John Oliver's progenitor, Jon Stewart, brought Tucker Carlson to the forefront of political ridicule when he went on Tucker's CNN show in 2004 and took the man (and the whole political talking head media thing) apart, live on telivision:
  7. I also sometimes tend to forget about people that I've mentioned here... Who do you mean? Because I have well and truly forgotten who this could refer to.
  8. I have people that I've flung out of my online orbit that were toxic and led to nothing good. Sometimes I think about what they're up to. The answer is: they're being toxic to someone else. And I feel good for having cut the ties.
  9. "Screaming" is my favorite. Prayers up to the 3 dudes that got screaming from the vaccine.
  10. As a leftist, I'm very glad that the issues are correctly being pointed out. And also, I'd like to point out that I--correctly--identified JJ Abrams as the problem from the get go.
  11. Ok, so the IRS website to check on the status of your stimmy is live and apparently I *am* getting some. Don't know how much yet, but we'll see. Maybe my adjusted gross income is still below the threshold. Who knows!
  12. So I don't think I'm getting a stimmy. I filed my taxes for last year before the bill was signed, and also I made just above the new cutoff threshold. Joe Biden, Joe Manchin, and Kirsten Sinema cut my stimulus payment despite a LESS Democratic Senate and Donald fucking Trump giving me money. Is the stimulus payment law good? Unquestionably. Am I bitter about Donald Trump giving me money and Joe Biden not? Yes.
  13. I'm a big vasectomy proponent and might have one myself some day. But I NEVER want to hear the phrase "vasectomy mayhem" ever again.
  14. In actuality, him tweeting post-presidency would well and truly suck. he'd still act like he was president and he'd whip up the fascists more easily. (And I'm still waiting on the next group of fascists to do some political violence, because it's coming.)
  15. God I miss him. So glad we have this. (Note: I do not miss him. I miss his tweets.)
  16. "Build Back Better" is still such a dumb phrase.
  17. I did too! For FEDERAL court. But so far, I'm on week 2 of being approved, but not assigned a case. Fingers crossed for you that you won't either.
  18. I just signed up in my city to get a vaccine on March 19th. They opened it up to people that include a wide range of health effects, which include asthma. Got my golden ticket, baby!
