  1. Ohhhhhh! I do remember Digital Foundry making a video about a CRT monitor, but didn't remember the specific model they had covered. That explains a lot, thanks. That did seem like a pretty good monitor 👀
  2. I've heard people bring up the FW900 before in CRT discussions, but don't actually know much about it myself. I gather it's apparently a highly-desired CRT display?
  3. NVIDIA seems to be really screwing up as of late; it's sad to see. Still blows my mind just how huge the 4090 is, lol
  4. Oof, sorry to hear. Maybe someday I should learn to solder - it seems like that skill opens up a lot of options when it comes to hardware mods and the like. When I said "it works" in the tweet, I was referring to plugging a passive VGA switch into a VGA splitter/amplifier. I wasn't sure if it would work out, but thankfully it did, so I'm able to have multiple inputs going to multiple displays. 🥰 For sure! I adore CRTs so much aaaaaaaaaaaaaaa 🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰
  5. Yeah, that's right - I am curious to see how that Hori controller turns out. I hope it delivers on those unique features they showed off in their proof of concept 👀
  6. Ooh, that sounds nice A smaller CRT for your desk corner sounds like a good fit, if you think you'd get enough use out of it. A small VGA CRT monitor (like my main 14" one) especially should be relatively easy to come by, and also can support VGA output from the MiSTer. A CRT TV of a comparable size (13" or so) tends to only have RF or composite output from what I've seen; some have S-video or YPbPr component too, but that's a lot rarer for that size.
  7. It's pretty nice, lol. There are pros and cons depending which type of CRT you get - the main drawback to a VGA CRT monitor is not having lightgun support, but being able to play a lot of the computer cores on a CRT is pretty nice ^_^ It fits my setup quite nicely. Tee hee
  8. I own Paprium, lol. I ordered it a few years before it actually shipped out, and before the price got increased a bunch. I actually still have yet to open my copy, lol - I'm hoping that someday, someone figures out how to get it working in an emulator. I may someday decide to just go ahead and open it, lol. Hopefully my copy isn't one of those defective cartridges with the chips falling off the PCB. oof
  9. The Wii is a great system, both with regard to the number of great ports/unique exclusives it got, as well as how nice the homebrew scene is. It was horribly underrated during its lifetime.
  10. So, yeah. This is pretty sweet. The horizontal monitor is a 14" Daytek (DT-14SV2). The vertical monitor is a 15" Supercom Multisystems Multi-scan monitor (SK-1592GN). The Supercom monitor's in slightly worse shape with an overall yellowish tint on the image, no matter how much I adjusted the RGB gain/bias, and also occasional streaks on the screen, but it works well enough for this usage, so I'm good, lol. Looking forward to playing more tate arcade games 🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰
  11. I'm kinda more interested in the trackball/spinner controller than I am the actual mini-arcade machine itself I wish it was available separately for cheaper...
  12. Code Veronica has some pretty major issues, and is definitely more deserving of a remake than Resident Evil 4. That said, I am looking forward to blocking chainsaws with my knife. Coolest shit ever
  13. I beat Yunica's path in Ys Origin - it was neat 🥰 Gonna play Hugo's path next. Feels kinda weird to have an Ys game with multiple playable characters, lol
  14. Haven't really played much over the past few days - I guess I've felt a bit burned-out. I kinda wanna try The Legendary Axe II for the TurboGrafx-16, though - I played the original last year and really liked it. Kinda wanna see how the sequel compares 👀
  15. First thread I commented in was the ADACA thread, I believe
  16. Like a day or two ago. I just felt like popping back in, lol
  17. Maybe I'll be able to actually enjoy Perfect Dark, if I can play with keyboard and mouse. I tried the XBLA version awhile ago, but found the dual-analog controls very awkward.
  18. I know I've had a great time in the year and a half that I've owned a MiSTer. Just in that time, there have been several new cores for stuff ranging from Playstation to Wonderswan, which is really nice to see. I also like that (with the analog I/O board) I can output to both my CRT monitor via VGA, as well as a capture card via HDMI simultaneously. It's pretty nice to play on a CRT while streaming or recording my gameplay simultaneously :3
  19. I own this for the Wii - I tried it via the translation patch back when that was new. Honestly I found Fatal Frame IV to be incredibly boring and dull, contrary to the hype I'd heard about the series. I was very disappointed with it. I dropped it around Chapter 3 or 4. Maybe it'd be worth revisiting someday... but it's not a very high priority for me.
  20. I beat Phantasy Star... at least 99% without a guide or online resources to help. I kept a notebook marking my progress as I played, and also mapped out the maps on grid paper. It took me like 5+ years (off and on), but I beat it. I really liked it... but I'm not sure I have the patience to ever beat another game with first-person grid-based dungeons you need to map out manually, lol. I played the TurboGrafx-CD versions of Ys Book I & II and they're both amazing. I've been going through the Ys series as of late (in mostly release order), partly to tide myself over while I wait for more Trails games to come out in English. It's a really fun action RPG series and I adore it. It clicks with me in a way that stuff like Zelda never really did. Ys I is an incredibly short game, lol. It takes like a few hours to beat from start to finish. You could catch up to where you had gotten over the course of a single sitting. Ys II is also fairly short - together they make a decently-sized adventure, but it's still a rather brisk experience as far as RPGs go... which I actually kind of appreciate.
  21. Kinda interesting that they're retiring the Super Nt and Mega Sg - I saw some speculation on Twitter that they might release a multi-console replacement in the future, partly to compete with stuff like MiSTer. Seems like the OpenFPGA capability for the Pocket is fairly successful so far, so I wouldn't be surprised to see Analogue feature more of that in future products.
  22. I watched a friend stream the ADACA demo a little while ago, and it seemed neat. I should give it a shot sometime. Feels like 2022 has been filled with tons of great FPSes so far :3
  23. http://www.hardcoregaming101.net/podcasts/top-47858-games-of-all-time-episode-241-south-park-the-stick-of-truth/ So... yeah. This was a ton of fun to do, and I wanted to share it with you all Hope you enjoy it!! uwuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuu
