  1. Interesting read. Seems like Sony's first party will continue to prioritize best possible visuals vs frame rates. And with the results they get hard to blame them.
  2. I wish I could turn my Gamerscore off or make it private. All it serves is my casual friends make fun of me and call me a nerd when they see I'm over 100k.
  3. BF4 was a big game for me at launch on Xbox. BF4 was shit at launch though, with terrible rubber banding for at least a month or two. Loved the gameplay in that though. CoD Ghosts was really meh. Assassins Creed Blackflag was really good. I had fun at launch for sure with the XB1. I do remember how broken the party system was at launch though too.
  4. Yeah Ratchet had the lengthy gameplay demo with some of the SSD stuff shown off. But as far as we know, it's not a launch title. I don't think they gave any window for launch for that yet. Spiderman is a few months away, so I figured we may be seeing some gameplay soon for their big system seller. What will the 60fps mode look like? I feel like given how close to launch we are getting, both consoles haven't really laid out clearly what is coming around launch yet. MS did say 60 new titles being made for XSX coming out this year. But given Covid, things really are probably really tough for developers to coordinate and put together these things. Just hope both consoles can deliver solid launches that go off well.
  5. Is that a legit platformer game? I don't know much about it, I figured it was a short tech demo type thing to mess around in. Does it do anything to sell the PS5's power that can't be done on the PS4?
  6. And to think of it, we haven't seen any gameplay really of Sony's only 1st Party launch title. I think we all know Spiderman will look and play great, but it is their sole 1st party project confirmed for launch, and we've seen next to nothing on it so far. Why wouldn't they have shown a bit more of it at this past show alongside Godfall? Highlight the power of PS5 and why it's PS5 only? Maybe it's still coming as there is another rumored event.
  7. Weren't rumors that Demon Souls is like 2022 the earliest? I feel like we would've had some Holiday 2020 listings during their showcase if any of those titles were even trying to aim for a 2020 launch. They've had no issues listing Spiderman, Godfall, and whatever other titles are 2020, so it feels odd they wouldn't list that for R&C and GT7 if they were aiming for this year. I tried googling launch lineups for either MS or Sony, and had a hard time finding concrete lists for either. Also, didn't Jason Scheirer basically confirm a Remastered Bloodborne coming to PS5 and PC with 60fps. That alone would be a system seller for PS5.
  8. Yeah, they choose one console at launch. So if Xbox isn't on shelves because they delay to launch with Halo, what does that do to help Xbox. It leaves just the PS5 on the shelves with no choice for consumers. I still dont get the benefit to Xbox now to be out this Holiday.
  9. Does it suck not to have Halo for launch, of course. But launching a rushed game is far worse than delaying it to make it as good as it can possibly be. I also don't see any benefit in delaying the Series X with Halo. If the hardware is good to go, what benefit does Xbox have waiting until Halo is ready. Those that were only getting a Series X for Halo, will wait for Halo. Those that are getting a Series X for the best console performance of multiplats and improved back compat, may not care about the delay and still want the XSX Day 1. All delaying the console would do, is leave it unavailable for all those that want it regardless of a Halo delay. I personally don't see what launching later and leaving the PS5 go uncontested at retail this Holiday does to benefit the Xbox if the hardware is ready to launch.
  10. I don't mind Crystal Dynamics working on this game. I love Looters, and actually am a fan as GAAS when they are done right. I'd much rather a game I love and enjoy continue to evolve and add content so I can keep revisiting that world, rather than it be a one and done experience that ends. I think the Avengers is a great title to do something like this with. We have a lot of Hero Shooters adding new characters every season, so Avengers is something that works perfectly in that model, if they can churn out characters that fast. Games like Apex add what, 4 characters a year to a competitive shooter. A game like Avengers I think could realistically do 3-4 a year, depending on how deep the loot and character customization really is. I just wish a game like this had people on all platforms just excited to get their hands on it to try it out, instead, 2/3 are looking for a reason to bash the game now and say it's gonna flop and hope it flops to try and push back against this behavior by Publishers.
  11. There isn't anything to explain though, everyone knows what it is. Sony paid a lot of money to Square Enix for Spiderman to be exclusive to Playstaion. There isn't much else to say about it. It's a business deal, and Sony paid for their version to be the only one to get the content. If Microsoft or Stadia want to pay a large sum of money to gate a character for their platform, I'm sure Square Enix will happily accept the money. But at the end of the day, blocking content off other platforms doesn't make your version any better, it just artificially makes the other versions worse. it's dumb. I also own PlayStation 4 and have bought plenty of games on it. I planned to play this on PC originally, cause I assumed it would be cross play. They are punishing their own customers and owners of Playstation by forcing us to play this game on the most inferior hardware to get content that should be available to everyone. And the fact there is no cross play or cross progressions is also bullshit, and most likely due to Sony's deal to block shit.
  12. It's the same bullshit Bungie had to deal with with Destiny, only in their case it was timed exclusivity for content. They had to deal with the hate and questions about content being locked off for people paying the same price. The developers dread it, I'm sure Crystal Dynamics hates it too. I honestly feel this game is going to end up not doing nearly as well as their ambitions are for it. So much of the feedback I'm reading is really mixed with it skewing more negative than positive. So many will go into this playing this game with negative bias due to the Spiderman stuff, and it'll largely shape the reactions more negative than it maybe deserves. I understand money talks, and Sony probably paid a boat load for exclusive Spiderman, but to piss off 2/3 of your potential customers before launching a game that you want to be as huge as possible for potential micro-transactions and other things, seems so short sighted. Regardless I cant wait to try it for myself, as I'm a sucker for Loot RPG type games. Was hoping this would scratch the itch and offer something new, so we'll see.
  13. Also custom games so u can host an entire group of friends would be fun as well with custom playlist. I despise most of the team games as they 95% feel like complete random luck and would be fine if they removed just about all of them.
  14. I read the same regarding playing with controller and lower frames. A friend told me they lowered their FPS to 60 and plugged in a controller on PC and won back to back after not winning on kb/m in probably like 100 rounds.
