  1. I remember Ebert liked how ROTS got back into the adventure of Star Wars but still wasn't high on the dialogue. The example he gave on At The Movies was the, "Obi-Wan's worried about you. You seem stressed." The prequels like to tell you what's happening as opposed to showing you (though ROTS had that lovely scene with Anakin and Padme staring out at each other which did a much better job conveying the competing thoughts Anakind had).
  2. I do really appreciate Massdriver's ability to communicate his ideas with us and his apprehension about the Democratic-Socialist ideology. I've said since forever that I don't want contrary views on the board simply to have them (Everyman and heyyoudvd are examples of low-caliber people the world could do without), but Mass has always been a good-faith debater, so I continue to appreciate his different POV. tbh, I wish more capitalists were like him since he gets that bigger change is needed even if the total views of the DSA make him nervous.
  3. The question this guy had about his degree is so weird. Where the hell was this Kerry in 2004?!
  4. Sanders is proposing a reformed estate tax: https://patrioticmillionaires.org/2019/04/01/fixing-the-estate-tax-how-sanders-and-harris-are-setting-the-tone-for-2020-contenders/ Harris' plan is detailed there as well. I think more capitalists such as the Patriotic Millionaires need to go all-in with the DSA. Not supporting everything they stand for if they truly don't, but understanding that people who go, "The rich control too much, they control you, they own all the major media outlets, and you have a right to be pissed," and who don't take a penny from Wall Street are, at a minimum, actually on our side. Republicans won't do that, and the Democratic leadership tends to be very limp in proposing a clear economic vision and changing the conversation.
  5. https://www.wfla.com/1925346664 On one hand, it seems like this could be a homeless man with mental issues, so it's kind of sad in a way if that's the case. On the other hand, this is a Florida headline through and through.
  6. What did you think of the sand pits and how they were filled with sand?
  7. This is another great example of the farce of claiming the US has the best health care in the world when rationing and fear of a $500 sudden medical bill are normal things.

  10. Astro Bot: Rescue Mission Detroit: Become Human Resident Evil 2 Remake Moss Yakuza Kiwami Yakuza 0 Yakuza 0, I gotta say: I am now in the fan club for this series. If you play too much, you can definitely get burnout, but huge, huge, huuuuuggggeeeeee props to the team at Sega for making SO many fun and varied side quests. The fact that I could do Pocket Circuit racing and have fun, Real Estate and have fun, phone dating and laughing my ass off, karaoke and have fun, classic SEGA arcade games, or spend dozens of hours on the REAL game, Cabaret Club, really goes to show the effort they put into the side content (and that's not getting into the typical stuff I've seen in other open worlds like bowling, pool and darts).
  11. The overall story of a Senator with evil, hidden intentions manipulating his way into power and into a seat that enlists the help of an organization he wants to destroy, with the intention of dissolving this republic into a galactic empire under his control, all the while turning the most promising Jedi student into his own apprentice, is a great overall idea. The problem was that Lucas wrote it. I maintain that the prequels could have been superior had they been written better (showing Anakin's relationship with Obi-Wan evolve instead of them at each other's throats for two straight movies, focusing more on Palpatine's ascent and the Clone Wars, getting to know the Jedi more so that their destruction means something to us past the fact that they're Jedi). Unfortunately, we received what we did, but I've been loving the sequel trilogy ride thus far.
  12. I wouldn't mind having fewer obscenely wealthy people if it meant they don't control as much compared to poorer people, and poorer/middle-class people have more spending power. We live in a nation where a not insignificant amount of people are scared of a sudden $500 medical bill; that's hardly a resounding "results are in and fuck yeah."
  13. I guess others did, but I'll chime in to say that I didn't mind this discussion whatsoever.
  14. I think his story for sequels matched TLJ more than Force Awakens IIRC.
  15. In terms of scripted gameplay, this game clearly is filled with emergent gameplay, with some missions being completely different based on the weather (don't know how many). I can't say shit as far as how you'll enjoy the controls.
