  1. It's easy to interpret the second amendment as, "Right to bear arms, not necessarily every arm that exists," because we already do that, just as it's easy to interpret the 14th amendment as birthright citizenship because that's what we do.
  2. According to Jim Ryan (SIE President and CEO), he said in an investor meeting a while ago that due to increased competition (not just MS's acquisitions but Google and Epic as well), having a strong first party will be important in the future. So it likely goes well beyond MS.
  3. I remember liking the first Amazing Spider-Man. I have no idea if I still would enjoy it front to back.
  4. https://www.playstation.com/en-us/games/erica-ps4/ I knew about this game a while back, I think 2017, after Sony launched the Playlink initiative. Playlink isn't really a thing anymore, so this can be played with a standard controller.
  5. Insomniac has released quite a bit this gen outside of Sony and Microsoft, including an acclaimed VR game. It makes a ton of sense to lock it down, especially since employees from Insomniac has said Sony is the best publisher to work with when making a single-player narrative game like Spidey.
  6. I think this makes it easier. omg, I can go for a PS5 Ratchet. And the return of the arena.
  7. I don't think Disney had the rights before? Sony's allowing Spider-Man to be featured in Disney's MCU movies, but someone had to get the rights to the movies, and Sony was the company that got it. I know that movie rights for superhero films weren't a big deal for a long time. Look at how barely anything existed in the 80s while mostly just being Batman and Spawn and Blade in the 90s. So while it seems weird now, superhero films weren't the huge thing they are now in this superhero fatigue I keep hearing we're in.
  8. To put this in perspective, after the low unions experienced during the Great Recession, their image has rebounded: Much of this comes from Democrats:
  9. This seems exactly as has been described, tbh. Just seems to be a summary of the information already out there and way different than any AAA games I've played.
  10. It was indisputably a successful film. The comic is talking about failures and flops.
  11. Not putting a big game out on the PlayStation means they will not still be making all that money.
  12. Considering Disney owns everything, I kind of like this lol. But I want to see more of this Spider-Man and MJ, so I hope it all works out.
  13. 1. You can disable a lot of the HUD. 2. The skill tree isn't massive. There are only a few "fetch" quests that give really good items, and there are merchants with maps to find them if you wanted to. 3. The lore of the game is fantastic. There's a point of the game where the overarching story of, "How did this all happen?" comes forward when you meet a certain character, and the entire story/set-up as to why the world is post-apocalyptic was REALLY good. I'm the kind of guy who typically does side quests in between the main quest no matter what, but this was one of those times where I looked forward to learning more about the backstory when I got back to the main quest. I will say I really enjoyed the cauldrons, especially considering the skills they give you. 4. Human combat isn't good, but the ranged combat is fantastic. I went an entire playthrough not using certain weapons, and then on my second run, wondered why the hell I didn't. It was one of my favorite 2017 games. There are definitely open-world tropes (you can scale these giant dinosaurs to open up part of the map, there are camps to overrun, etc.). All I can say is, there's a very good main plot if you want to focus on that. DLC has some great additional enemies. Use your best judgment, though Horizon is so freaking cheap now that maybe you won't regret it if you get open worlded.
