  1. That is perhaps the best, plain language summary of the current push for Christian privilege I have ever heard.
  2. They should just call it Christian liberty at this point. Not like SCOTUS is going to knock it down for some lazy language after Trinity Lutheran and Trump v. Hawaii.
  3. Trump: Maggie Haberman is Hitler. Media: Trump is an asshole for calling Maggie Haberman Hitler. Maggie Haberman: Where oh where has the media's civility gone?!?!
  4. In more ways than one. If Trump actually goes I think there is a not 0% chance that Putin tells him he's busy once he gets there and sends him home without a meeting like his 2013 trip.
  5. Stop picking on Rudy. Calling Cohen a liar is the most honest thing the guy has said all year.
  6. I think Republicans have gotten so good at pretending Trump's Twitter feed doesn't exist for political reasons that they've fooled themselves into thinking it doesn't matter for legal reasons. "It's just something he said on Twitter" doesn't really work here. Trump's diarrhea of the thumbs is a fucking goldmine for criminal intent. It's the kind of minute by minute documenting of state of mind that prosecutors could only dream of a few decades ago.
  7. I thought I recognized this name. This guy is also the shit stain that used his position and personal beliefs to physically prevent immigrant teenagers from obtaining abortions. So, yeah, if you ever wanted literally one guy to personify the pro-zygote, anti-child stance of the modern pro-life movement...here's your guy.
  8. I think it's worth mentioning that the media churn has kind of given the impression that Cohen is mainly the money, fixer, mistress guy. But remember that the Steele dossier has Cohen in Prague literally paying off Russian hackers. His account of things could go right to the heart of collusion.
  9. Every time I see a graph like this I am reminded of a gif posted here years ago that was animated and on each individual dip on the higher end mockingly declared, "Recovery!". It's such a perfect summary of how deniers refuse to see the big picture because, ya know, one day during last winter was cold enough to snow.
  10. I hear some speculation that Nunes did this for fund raising purposes. Here in a couple months they might regret being the ones that brought up the I'word.
  11. I was referring to how this plays in the wider political conversation. We talk a lot about Trump parodying himself, but this is the type of thing conservatives dream up to turn people against government regulation. I am sure that Zuckerberg would say that, like the Holocaust, that number is greatly inflated.
  12. You going to arrest people for bringing a bag lunch with them to work, too? I get the large scale communal concerns over this where the company is a vital organ of the community, but it strikes me as the kind of thing that should have been handled when they were settling on things like tax breaks for moving in and such. And now maybe with property or business taxes. Fucking with people's lunch hour is like a twofer when it comes to working class people who might not be hardcore Dem or Rep who are susceptible to arguments about frivolous government regulation.
  13. The Trump era has been exasperating as a skeptic. I believe one should be very dubious about claims of conspiracies, but these morons keep getting caught in them. So I find myself almost gaslighting myself over questioning whether I am being Glenn Beckian over a story that breaks, only to find that yes Cohen really did start that LLC to pay off mistresses. That bank in Chicago really did give Manafort a loan as a bribe. Manafort really did try to change the Republican platform as a favor to Russians. It occurs to me that maybe this is happening because one side of the aisle now buys in to conspiracy theories so much that they just think that's how things are done. They tell themselves the Clinton Foundation is an obvious transparent money laundering scheme so what's the problem with the Trump Foundation truly being a transparent money laundering scheme, amirite?
  14. Trump got tired of us speculating that he was embarrassed about a supposed pee tape so he decided to let Putin piss on him and America on live television. At this point they could release video of Putin dick slapping Trump and we'd be like, "Yeah, I mean it's bad, but it's no Helsinki. Hopefully the media doesn't get distracted by this!!"
  15. The UI is kind of a pain. They don't always make it clear whether what you need is a raw material you need to find, something you need to craft, or something that needs to be processed. They throw a lot at you at the beginning. And the constant depletion of the Hazard Shield doesn't help. About 2 hours in, I feel like I am starting to get the hang of it. Hopefully it'll become second nature like Minecraft.
  16. I occassionally see these morons with pistols at their hip(always old, white, male, and usually diminutive). I can't help but laugh when I see them. It reminds me of the George Carlin bit about cowboy hats.
  17. I remember the game being a little hard to get into. Does anyone know if any of the updates made the intro more user friendly? Either way, I'll probably be starting from scratch, too. (About 2.5GB to go.....)
  18. Phew, that was a close one! Almost had a conflict of interest, but caught it right in time!!!
