And something like 30%+ also develop heart and lung scarring, and cog fog. This appears to be a lifelong illness.
  2. We can't afford to lose people like @sblfilms, we are too small as it is, and he was a good contributing member. Is there any way to get him back?
  3. Trump Jr. and Kimberly Guilfoyle make moves to expand RNC influence WWW.CNN.COM Donald Trump Jr. and Kimberly Guilfoyle are making moves to expand their influence at the Republican National Committee, three GOP sources, including advisers to the President tell CNN. Some sources say they may seek to take over the party structure themselves.
  4. That will be interesting to see which companies rise up and take the place of the existing majors. Perhaps sblfilmoplexes will pop up across the US?
  5. In this future scenario, is it the US President that cedes 50% of Washington State Cascade Disputed Region (the coastal part) to Canada?
  6. Laptops + docking stations (for mouse, keyboard, and larger monitors) seems to be the thing most workplaces are converging on.
  7. WRONG! The DNC fundraised more than EVER before in history! That is a HUGE success!!!!
  8. With North Dakota hospitals at 100% capacity, Burgum announces COVID-positive nurses can stay at work | INFORUM WWW.INFORUM.COM In an attempt to alleviate some of the staffing concerns, Burgum announced that the state health officer has amended an order that will allow health care workers with asymptomatic cases of COVID-19 to continue working in hospitals' COVID-19 units. 9. So, this is gigantic news. For anyone not aware, Treaty rights give the Miꞌkmaq nation the right to fish forever in their ancestral lands. White fisherman don't like that, since they can only catch lobster part of the year. In reality, the number of Miꞌkmaq fisherman is very low, but it became a racist and political issue. It hit its head most recently with mobs of white fisherman descending on Indigenous fishing areas, and resulted in boats being destroyed, warehouses being burned down, etc. So that's the shot. The chaser? The Miꞌkmaq nation (along with other Indigenous nations) have teamed together and have bought the company that the white fisherman work for, for $1 billion. The white fisherman now work for the Miꞌkmaq people. This is huge news, and a giant victory for Indigenous economic growth in Canada, too. Indigenous bands/nations in the west have also recently taken ownership of some oil pipelines. I think that getting Indigenous people involved in the ownership and operation of resource-based initiatives is a good thing, and I am glad to see it expanding. Long-term, the goal needs to be improved finances of Indigenous people, and less reliance on the federal government (until then, however, funding should be increased, as it's pathetic right now).
  10. Where I live it seems that most of the spread is people hanging out with friends and family at home (without masks). Though even with masks, if you're in the same contained room as someone else for an hour or two the chances of catching it are very high. The buy-in required to really slow spread is to convince people not to go to other people's houses...and I don't think it's going to happen. Police are handing out $2,800 tickets in my city for house parties of over 10 people, and people keep hosting them. One even said that their 250-person party (over Halloween) was with their bubble that they see all the time...
  11. I've been thinking about Biden's inauguration. Personally, I think the most powerful message he could send would be by not have it be public. Have it held in the Supreme Court or White House (or Congress, whatever) and livestream/televise it. Have everyone wear masks, and have only John Roberts there along with Biden and Harris' families. Send a message that he is effectively a wartime president (with the virus) and that pomp and circumstance don't matter at all, he is 100% about getting to work.
