There was a good reply on a local subreddit for a city near me that I will post below. In the thread (about daily infection numbers), an idiot posted something like "The test used for COVID tests 9 different kinds of COVID, it doesn't even work. Don't be a sheep, do some research." The reply was: A good breakdown of anti-mask or covid-denier tactics.

I mean, the only way to be sure about the safety (and mass efficacy) of the first vaccine shots will be to wait years. And chances are, most countries that get the vaccine quickly will have multiple variants rolling out at the same time (e.g. Pfizer and Moderna). I understand that one may be slightly better than the other...but realistically, I will be taking the first shot offered to me.

Imagine if the election had been 270-268 (with roughly the same 6-7 million vote margin). Romney and his ilk would not be putting up the same fake defense of democracy, we would be seeing a total assault on multiple states that could swing the election, and the GOP establishment would be backing it even harder.

I don't think it's a conscious decision, but people who get elected to do things aren't as good at fundraising as people who get elected in order to continue to fundraise. So the party favours those people who want to fundraise (centrist corporate democrats). But it turns out those people aren't good at actually winning. A great example is how much the DNC raised to win Senate seats in Texas and Kentucky. They literally raised and spent more there than the entirety of their national state efforts.
