  1. And why was the propmaster not a member of the union? A pre-scab to get around the strike action that was being proposed, and cut costs?
  2. They'll offer customers a $0.10 discount on their items if they accept lead-lined plastic packages instead, and everyone will accept it.
  3. My initial guess would be that it wasn't a single bullet, but some kind of shrapnel that shot out (from something in the barrel that shouldn't have been there).
  4. It's really frustrating that governments don't put out data natively in /100k format, etc. Each day my province (admittedly occupied and run by dumbfucks) puts out stats showing what % of new cases are vaxxed, etc, and it's always in a format like: Unvaxxed - 75% Partially vaxxed - 8% Fully vaxxed - 17% And then all the people who don't understand stats start saying "hur hur, why are the fully vaccinated more likely to catch it than partially vaccinated?" It's because there are like 15x more fully vaxxed than partial! If you break it down per /100k it's like: 85% 10% 5%
  5. I'm sure there's also ways to design a fake gun that could use a battery or a form of stored kinetic energy to pop shell casings out and provide a tiny kick. I mean, heck, I own nerf guns that give a bit of kick when internal mechanisms move after the trigger is pulled.
  6. In the US, all problems can be solved by military action, apparently.
  7. It's horrible. I can't imagine the guilt Baldwin will be feeling (even though he deserves none). It's time to end guns with blanks.
  8. "Advances by the Soviets and Americans threaten to pinch profits and take the shine off gains for German chemical companies from increased gassing of prisoners in the internment camps."
  9. In Alberta, the previous NDP (social democrat) government raised the minimum wage to $15. When the Conservatives won the next election they passed a law saying teenagers could work for much less. Par for the course. And teenagers can't vote.
  10. More lakes than the rest of the world combined will turn from an asset to liability when the hordes of wandering elderly mass their way up from Phoenix.
  11. Don't worry it will Elephant dicks or something else, next. Chuds of all races and cultures are going to chud, and no animals larger than humans are safe.
  12. *Texas overturns all congressional elections of Democrats in state in 2022* "Sir, you said that you were overturning the results because someone saw a vehicle with a "Gore/Lieberman" bumper sticker driving near a polling station?" "Yes that's right, we believe they electronically and wirelessly tampered with the vote. We can only assume they did this everywhere in the state, so we are overturning all Democratic victories." "What about the video evidence from three angles of Republican goons physically tampering with ballot boxes and replacing actual votes with papers written with crayon?" "Well, boys will be boys, we have to assume it was an honest mistake." And then about about 42% of the country will agree with this, 48% will disagree, and 10% will be too dumb to form an opinion, and nothing will happen to stop them.
  13. Oh wow, what a surprise. You give people total power over other people for decades and also make it clear that there are no consequences for abuse of that power...and people are surprised they are abusing it? Cops, border agents, politicians, etc.
  14. So this year the flu shots (provided by government) are being held in my city at a convention centre. Basically just hundreds of chairs and a few dozen portable stations that nurses wheel around. Anyway, while my wife and I were getting our shots, the nurse accessed my wife's records and noticed she'd had a mixed-dose schedule (first Pfizer, second Moderna). She said my wife should get the third shot (Moderna) so that she has two of the same, which is required by some countries for entry. My wife mentioned she didn't want to take advantage of a "booster" out of order, and we had no intention of traveling. The nurse leaned and said something like "I don't care, and no one else in healthcare does. If you can get a third shot, take it, it reduces the chance of spread and helps us all." So that convinced my wife, and she's getting a third shot now (which I am happy about). My province is also starting boosters on Monday for everyone over 65 (as well as immunocompromised, etc). I expect they will lower the age requirement over a period of months. Effectively, provinces in Canada are now just doing whatever they want. Health Canada last year kind of said "we provide guidelines on what we think is safe, but legally each province can do what it wants, approve whatever it wants." It was in result to some places being hesitant to allow younger people to get AstraZeneca shots after the blood clotting risk came out. But now they are using it do bend the rules to get more people vaccinated (and as fully protected as possible). So that means third doses, or second doses (but third in total) of the type you got second, etc. In my province they are even allowing 11-year-olds to get shots as long as they turn 12 in the calendar year. Overall I am happy with that.
  15. At this point countries should just nationalize/make generic the patent and let anyone make it.
