I also watched it for the first time last night! My thoughts: - It made my wife insanely horny. An emo, broody Batman who has a ripped back and an emotional profile equal parts rage and trauma? DC Comics presents Wuthering Heights. - Though the pacing was a bit uneven toward the end, overall it handled its runtime as well as it could be expected to handle it. Not perfect but it didn't feel like a total slog. - It's the first Batman movie that truly felt like a film adaptation of a graphic novel. I don't know if it's necessarily the 'best' Batman film, but I feel like it stands on its own in terms of narrative tone, and it might be my favorite. - Batman's relationship with the police in this one really hits home how authoritarian Nolan's Batman was, especially toward the end of the trilogy. - Overall, just a damn good movie. The direction, acting, design (costume, art, set), score, and cinematography were all really well done. Other than one moment of somewhat bad CGI (the motorcycle crash), everything was top notch.

I've actually never eaten at The Cheesecake Factory, but because of this project I told my wife we should get dinner there to celebrate the end of the semester. -
I would certainly be annoyed, but I can't say I would think much more of the situation beyond that. If you want to practice risk avoidance for the rest of your life that's certainly your prerogative, but for most people that's not a necessity (and it is untenable to think people will continue to act in ways that are unnecessary, even if they should).

$383,075 (had to dig into their proxy filing to find that one). -

After reviewing their financials for fiscal year 2020, I'm convinced that their asset impairment was an attempt to take a 'big bath'. -

More or less everything about their approach seems to be, ‘Fuck it, we ball’ so I think they are just incapable of doing anything on a reasonable scale. -

You're thinking like an accountant as opposed to a marketer! -

They actually see it as a hedge against commodity prices, since they are not dependent on any one commodity (so cost increases can offset). -

They see the scope of their menu as a key component of their competitive positioning. Their preopening costs in 2020 totaled $10,456,000; they only opened 7 restaurants versus a planned 20. Desert sales represented approximately 21% of their restaurant sales in 2020 (as opposed to 16% in 2019). They impaired their assets by $219 million by the end of 2020, with nearly half of that being impairment of their trademark...I'm not entirely sure how they got their auditor to go along with that since they argued market capitalization and lower projected cash flow should trigger it (I'm guessing they took the stance that the brand is inseparable from their restaurant operations). -
