  1. I think the difference is important and I would never call someone a Libertarian unless they were part of the party. Lincoln has a lot of contradictory quotes on his feelings on slavery. I think in the end he was a pragmatist and would have allowed slavery to continue if it prevented war, but was personally opposed to it.
  2. I think Fizzzzle is just spitballing here. Comparing Confederate statues to Holocaust memorials make absolutely no sense, nor do his proposed ideas for keeping the statues. They would be met with a greater uproar than simply taking the statues down and it would never happen.
  3. So you would be satisfied with some words at the bottom of the statue saying something to the effect of “the Confederacy was bad?”
  4. “At the end of the day, when you have an immigration law that’s broken and you have a community of 10 million, 11 million people living and working in the United States illegally, some of these things are going to happen, even if the law is executed with perfection. There will be parents separated from their children. We don’t have to like it, but it is a result of having a broken system of laws. And the answer to that problem is reforming the law.” I have zero issue with that statement.

  9. She maintained her distance. He kept saying "touch me!" and getting closer. I dunno she gets an A from me for the way she triggered the hell out of him.
  10. Now I want a diet Mountain Dew.
  11. So I'm doing a data science bootcamp and tomorrow is the day for our capstone presentations. I am predicting food deserts using Census and USDA data. Interestingly and relevant to this thread, I found that one of the most predictive features of food deserts is both living in an urban environment and having low vehicle access. This is suggestive to me that there is low public transportation in these areas and as a result, not many companies think it's not a good idea to build supermarkets in areas with low public transportation. America is wild, yo.
  12. I want to prank call the hotline so bad, but my wife still only have a greencard at the moment. Definitely don't need her getting deported right now.
