Looking for a new mobo perhaps

I’ve got an Asus Maximus Hero VII

she was expensive. $300.

She’s still good, but it’s older and doesn’t accept anything but LGA1150 chips.

I have an i5 4670k and it’s no point in spending $200 to get a 4770k or 4790k.

May as well, get a new mobo.

Any suggestions? Not trying to break the bank. But it’s getting time for a new mobo

I assume I’ll be forced unless that new mobo takes old chips

Got it. Do you know if your current RAM is DDR3 or DDR4? I’m not sure which the 4000 Intel CPUs used, but if it’s DDR3, you’ll also need new RAM.

As it stands, you’d 100% want to go AMD if only for PCI-E 4.0. The other option is to wait 3-5 months for Intel’s next chips.

Though, really, with AMD’s press conference in a couple weeks, you should at least wait to see what they say.

It’s Corsair something. I can not confirm. Maybe 3? But maybe 4?

This! Seriously, this! The next Ryzen Processors are likely to rival intel or take the crown for gaming and PCIe 4.0 will be a bonus.
