ShreddieMercury
Criterion is celebrating Toshiro Mifune's 100th birthday this year: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RxVEJj1Fvec I don't have the Criterion Channel, but I was lucky to inherit the 25 film Akira Kurosawa Criterion box set a few years back, so I've been going through some of the films that I've never seen (most of the them). I initially tried Yojimbo, which I didn't love, but then watched Stray Dogs which was incredible, and I'm now watching High and Low. What Toshiro Mifune/Akira Kurosawa films have you seen? Which are your favorites?
SimpleG
Throne Of Blood is my favorite but The Hidden Fortress is great and Sanjuro too.
Guest
I’ve seen all his Kurosawa flicks, and Roshomon remains my favorite of their work together. Mifune is really masterful playing the same character in so many ways. An absolute delight.
SimpleG
I would also suggest Harakiri . Its doesnt involve Mifune/Kurosawa . It is a thing of absolute beauty.

skillzdadirecta
I'd recommend The Samurai Trilogy as well.

ort
I was all like, wha? He's still alive? But no, he died in the 90s. He would have been 100 on April 1st.
