Bloodporne Posted January 9, 2020 Posted January 9, 2020 I have an American Express gift card with $400 on it and want to buy a laptop that's approximately $1,000. Obviously I'd like to throw the $400 towards that. I've seriously maybe bought something on Amazon...five times or so. Can I use two cards essentially to make that purchase? Tried googling it but all the results were about Amazon gift cards specifically so not sure if that's different. Quote
Biggie Posted January 9, 2020 Posted January 9, 2020 When I have gift cards like Am/Ex or Visa I find that it’s much easier to use the cards to purchase Amazon e-gift-cards and then use the gift card credit towards my account for any Amazon purchases. They’ll email codes in the domination that you choose. Using a credit card gift card is confusing to me. Quote

Oh, so they send you a code you purchase with your AmEx gift card and you just enter the code on checkout as a type of "credit" to your purchase essentially? Quote
TheLeon Posted January 9, 2020 Posted January 9, 2020 I think you might have to do what Biggie mentioned (buy a $400 digital Amazon gift card with the amex). Those kind of gift cards are usually seen as a credit (or maybe debit) card, and I don't believe that Amazon has an option to split payment across multiple credit cards. Once you have the Amazon gift card on your account, you can use that first, and then whatever other payment method for the remainder. Quote

Apply that to your account. When you go to checkout it should show up on the place order page. Quote

Keyser_Soze Posted January 10, 2020 Posted January 10, 2020 I would assume you could because you can do it on Steam! Quote
