Nice congratulations on the new job. I'm sure it will work out for you.

I'm moving to Chandler Arizona next month, same job they are just closing all CA offices by next year and offered a relocation bonus if you went to the new AZ office. I've never lived outside of CA before so I'm a bit excited and nervous at the same time.

The only thing I know about AZ is that it's hot as hell :p Congrats to both of you on the new jobs. I'm hoping that I will also be in a new line of work by the end of the year. Plan to work 2 jobs for as long as I can as I plan to save up for a new home. Houses ain't cheap in CA

Yeah, I'm getting a nice relocation bonus, plus I'd just have no job anymore if I didn' t take it. Plus I found a decent apartment for $960 a month that's only 7.5 miles from the office I'll be working at. I'm hoping that by the end of the lease I'll be able to buy a home out there. You can definitely get a decent starter home for around $250,000 out there.

I do hate the heat. Not really looking forward to that.

As long as you have a fast internet connection that's all you need. I'm a home body now mostly. I plan to move up to crestline in about a year and a half and I have found several homes in the $250k - $300 that would suit my needs. Also it's only a 20min drive from where I currently live and it's much cooler up there. We'll see how the housing market is then hopefully things don't get too crazy

It looks like Chandler offers gigabit internet. I told myself I was going to cut the cord, but I can get gigabit internet through cox with the major movie channels for $150 a month. I'm mostly a homebody too, so good internet would be nice. Not sure I really need that though. I could just get 300MB for $80 a month with no cable and save money. Hmmmm

How's the move affect your mom?

Not bringing her with me. Still trying to figure out the best situation for her going forward, but I can't be broke and miserable for other people the rest of my life.

Congrats on the new job! What made you switch, @Zarich ? Just wanting a change? Better commute? Better pay?

My job  was taking my life.  Working all the time, on call all the time and new Management who had beliefs that didn't align with my own.  I was pretty miserable.  So It was time to change.
