Nintendo has started shutting down online play opportunities for the Wii U and 3DS consoles. This was originally supposed to happen in April, but it looks like the company couldn’t wait.

He is using his “new” Wii U as an emulation machine, essentially. And he isn’t even using Nintendo’s servers to get online. He uses something called Pretendo.

So you've raised a dirty pirate that will get you emails from your ISP very often for downloading Nintendo games?

Actually after I made that comment I went back to look at what Pretendo was. Seems very relevant to this topic since it allows you to play Wii-U games online.
