Bloodporne
I don't know jack about Batman or the DC Universe but is this supposed to be influenced by Lovecraft? One of his well-known stories is called The Doom That Came to Sarnath.

One of his well-known stories is called The Doom That Came to Sarnath. it appears to be so. From the Wikipedia entry Quote Mignola's third work for the character, the story is full of many Lovecraft-inspired renditions of both the Dark Knight's friends and foes, including Green Arrow, Two-Face, Ra's al Ghul, and so on. In addition, the story's title is an allusion to Lovecraft's "The Doom That Came to Sarnath". In 2015, the story was finally collected into one full volume by DC and published as a trade paperback. Ricofoley
Yeah it's pretty explicitly an homage to Lovecraft stories, and it's been a few years since I've read it, but from what I remember, it's not quite as good as you want it to be. This animation looks pretty cool, though, so maybe they'll improve on the source material.

Is it along the lines of how Batman: Gotham by Gaslight is basically just a normal Batman story but in the Victorian era, instead of doing something meaningfully different with the setting? skillzdadirecta
I'm not familiar with the comic this movie is based on at all. It says it's Mike Mignolia's third Batman work and Gotham by Gaslight was his first. When did this come out?
Jason
So...it's out. Anyone else watch it? Yeah I couldn't remember a lot of plot details when you asked me to follow up on that, I just remember a distinct feeling that they should've been able to do more with the basic premise.
