Jason
$5 million was set aside for small Pa. filmmakers. Harrisburg gave it to M. Night Shyamalan. WWW.INQUIRER.COM Many indie filmmakers say Shyamalan deserves Pennsylvania film tax credits — but not from the reserve allocated for smaller film-production firms. silentbob
Well his budget have been lately like $5-10m and I would say ‘qualifies’ under the term. Although I agree newer artist should be encourage and given a chance too.
Mr.Vic20
Well he is under 6ft and was raised in PA so I guess he qualifies as a "small PA Film Maker"?
Greatoneshere
There is a fairly large art and creative scene in Philadelphia (in part thanks to M. Night, admittedly, since he shoots all his movies in and around Philadelphia) which my wife is also a part of. There are huge Pittsburgh and Philadelphia film collectives that could use this money. But M. Night is the big PA filmmaker name I guess. His films are now much smaller but let's cultivate new talent. That'd be like a PA music fund being given to Trent Reznor (also a PA guy). Also, mandatory:

I KNEW you were married to Robin Wright!
