The first stage of the Canada Dental Benefit officially became law Thursday night after Bill C-31 passed its final reading in the Senate and received royal assent from Governor General Mary...

Federal dental care is slowing starting to ramp up with the passage of the first part (children 12 and under). Next year it expands to 18 and under, then seniors, and then everyone. The major (and bad) stipulation is that it's income-tested. Hopefully that disappears over time in some way. At the least, families with incomes under $90,000 will benefit from this, which is a good thing.

I get to pay $9.16 per pay period and nothing but cleanings and tooth pulls are covered. No, seriously. Need a crown? Nah, not covered. You can get that tooth pulled for free, though. No braces or anything like that. May as well be plastic surgery with house much it costs...and this is the best dental plan my employer offers.

I just had to pay 500 bucks for a new nightguard.  Ugh...
