  1. He’s an acolyte of Peter theil who thinks democracy is bad actually so I’m not shocked
  2. Dangerously close to diagnosing mental disorders from afar itt which I’m told is bad
  3. Doesn’t matter if he was very well off or just merely “a little rich” it’s like arguing if bill gates came from wealth:they both had a privileged background (upper middle class at worst) that laid the foundations of their future success because of what their parents were able to afford them that 99% of their age cohort would not be able to do. They were in the right place at the right time and had the right background with a nice dash of luck.
  4. He’s also said he fully supported Kanye in his right wing op bid for the presidency! His affinity for yang notwithstanding (and that’s just tech bro solidarity) you just described a young Republican. The donations to dems? Means nothing that’s just business. Even trump did it!
  5. The politicians are not actually being censored but were often banned from twitter and Facebook and etc for vaccine related misinformation or violence peddling in the aftermath of Jan 6. They see these things as permissible! And musk generally agrees with this assessment, just see his tweet after trump was removed from twitter due to Jan 6. Other minor conservative voices that do actually get banned only do so only after years of egregious rule breaking and trying to circumvent the bans. there’s only a few of those. But their existence feeds the paranoia. Facts don’t matter here but feelings do to a culture of grievance and persecution.
  6. The worst part is there is an alternative that has been used before: at large proportional representation until district maps are created.
  7. I’m not saying it’s good now I never said that. I have said it can, and given his inclinations probably will, get worse. He’s all about “free speech” as conservatives see it not as it exists as on a platform. because he is a conservative
  8. No one will leave the platform until they make a massively unpopular user experience decision you can mark my words on this
  9. Smoking weed doesn’t make you a moderate, and being for you own business doesn’t make you a liberal on climate. He’s actually very close politically to many younger conservatives!
  10. Nice equivocation without evidence for him being a “liberal” or “moderate”
  11. Musk makes $43 billion offer for Twitter to build 'arena for free speech' WWW.REUTERS.COM Billionaire entrepreneur Elon Musk took aim at Twitter Inc with a $43 billion cash takeover offer on Thursday, with the Tesla CEO saying the social media company needs to be taken private to grow and...
  12. There’s a lot of conservatives who complain about being silenced from twitter and he is on record that twitter is not allowing “free speech” by silencing them (often for doing racism or targeted harassment or similarly odious things) so it’s easy to see those policies being reduced or eliminated at the altar of free speech
  13. He is. Covid minimalism (in 2020!) transphobia, and mocking the idea of the wealthy (like, you know, him) having to pay more taxes makes you a conservative.
  14. So it’s actually very bad that another conservative has taken over another media/social media outlet. Twitter is far from perfect but it’s easy to see how it will get worse given the attention that the White South African has complaining about how twitter has been silencing conservatives and conservatives voices (read: complaining about not being able to do racism and transphobia)
  15. It’s interesting to also note that as poor as it is, it’s still much wealthier than neighboring areas making it a ripe target for illegal immigration
  16. It is very funny that le pen won a department that is 97% Muslim though (because of illegal immigration though)
