  1. There’s so many people ironically saying shit like “well we saved grandma so it was worth it.” Like um well... yes? If you can reduce the casualties of a pandemic that’s killed almost 100,000 of your countrymen SO FAR, uh yes it certainly is worth it?
  2. Maybe he’s ill. He did recently have a heart attack and he’s almost 80. That’s about the age when people really start slowing down in my experience.
  3. I don’t understand you people. I’ve experienced 100 Fahrenheit probably a handful of times in my life and its miserable.
  4. He was, but I don't see what's so inconsistent with that and not wanting Stacey Abrams, who also lost her election for statewide office, to be a VP candidate. Unless people actually said "The only thing Beto should do is spend the next few years organizing the vote, and he'd be a terrific candidate for president in the future." As I recall, the suggestion was he should have tried running for senate again.
  5. I don’t really think that has anything to do with what his overall point. There’s enough resiliency in the food system that even if a few of Tyson’s plants go out of commission, no one has to go hungry. I doubt that, for example, Tyson raises all the pigs or cows that eventually get processed at their factories.
  6. Given that he apparently put a lot of forethought into this, I would bet they were legally purchased. Quite possibly an AR-15 because he wanted to pretend to be a LEO. AR-15’s are in the restricted category which means you need a restricted license (not very hard to get), you can’t use for hunting and can only transport directly from your home to a licensed gun range (but if you’re going to go on a murder spree I doubt you care about that). Honestly, the best case scenario (for gun enthusiasts anyway) is that he DID use an AR-15 or similarly scary looking rifle. In that case, it’s possible the Liberals ban AR-15’s along with a few other similar rifles and stop there. But if the guy used, say a semi-auto shotgun (which are considered non-restricted — still require a possession license but not subject to the same restrictions, can be used for hunting etc) I could see us ending up with laws similar to Australia.
  7. I sold about 25% of my ETF’s yesterday. I’ll reinvest later when the price is lower maybe.
  8. So it'll be 4-3 assuming Karofsky wins? How often is a judge up for re-election on that court?
  9. Interestingly I just watched a video about Mike "safety third" Rowe about an hour ago: He's a right wing ghoul. All you really gotta know about him is he thinks that safety first is a bad policy -- he literally says (in a clip in the video) that money should be number 1 and getting the job done should be number 2.
  10. Well it was January 14th. I think no one had any idea what to think of this virus at that point. A few days after this the Chinese authorities figured out not only was human to human transmission possible, but it was actually extremely contagious, and this combined with the high case fatality rate caused China to shit bricks and lock down Wuhan. Or, you know cHiNa LiEs.
  11. According to virihealth.com, there are 19 fewer people in ICU with covid-19 than yesterday. I think that’s really good news for Canada, and therefore the world. Personally, I think wexit is just virtue signalling. Alberta isn’t gonna separate.
  12. Lol my dad has a total bro-crush on Chris Cuomo for some reason. He was telling me how today how Andrew Cuomo has done such a great job. I didn’t really argue the point cuz tbqh I’m just glad my dads not watching some Fox News garbage.
