My previous post was made before seeing this. You're not the only person who had that reaction.
Which is crazy because it also felt like there’s another 15/30 min on the cutting room floor that would have helped the plot more in the first act -
Approaching 40 hours and STILL feel barely into this game lol.
Just stumped across Lerion’s Manner. What an insanely cool thing to just stumble upon. Can’t wait to see what happens when I find the daughters

It’s being nitpicky but you guys know Moana is a Disney Animation studios film not Pixar right?
Also you know you’re getting old when people are using that and Coco as the standard bearers now instead of Up, WallE, The Incredibles, Toy Story haha

Yeah, I didn't love the movie but some of his points were just way off.
Beating the rapist for example was just showing shes not a hero, imagine Super man just beating the shit out of a rapist in the street and leaving him to die just cause he could, lol. Also he like forgot this was set during one of the most tense times in the cold war where the middle east absolutely would have been the catalyst for WW3.
Spoiler
Yeah that take was unreal. The point was to show that she was ENJOYING the violence and she was 100% going to kill him if her homeless friend didn’t interrupt him. Like you said, it was to show she wasn’t a hero. Especially in the opening scene when they showed WW trying so hard to not kill anyone.
And yeah you’re spot on about the Middle East thing. His critique shows no knowledge of current events during that time period.

Spoilers in this Tweet thread, but from the sounds of it, this movie is a bit of a tone deaf mess
That is hands down the most awful, “try hard” review I’ve ever read. You’d have to be stretch Armstrong to arrive at the conclusions he some how contorts himself into. -
Just finished it and loved it. It’s such a different feeling movie. Kinda hard to describe. But it really goes for a way different feel from the first which is great. Pascal gives one of the best performances I’ve seen in a comic book movie and Wiig was fantastic.
There are admittedly some odd plot progressions. There are times that it feels like something was cut that may have explained whats happening better. But for the most part it all makes sense by the end.
Overall a really fun and different feeling super hero movie whose message really lands, especially right now.

Maybe you two clowns can settle, whatever it is that was, in PMs. It’s annoying assuming that something interesting or useful has been posted to this chat but instead it’s just you two idiots having some kind of bizarre “nerd off”

I know I played and beat both RE5 and RE6 on gamefly rentals but I swear I can't remember shit about either one of those games... I know one of them had Chris punching a boulder for some reason.
lol that was 56 is one of only a handful of games that I started, played about an hour and said “this game fucking sucks” and got rid of it haha

I used to have that same TV stand. IKEA for the win!
you could stand it up on the floor next to it?

It was to create tension and drama. Showed strangers working together and looking out for each other for a greater common purpose.
Grogu wasn’t at Luke’s academy, he was at THE academy. Remember he’s like 50 years old. So if there’s a question, if one is even necessary, it’s how how did he escape Anakin.
The arrival of a Jedi to be able to track Grogu and come get him was already established earlier in the show. So I don’t think Luke’s arrival was a deus ex Machina, it wasn’t 100% random out of the blue.
Agreed the Dark Troopers were underwhelming. Not that Luke cut through them so fast, that was the point of showing how powerful Luke was. But I could have used a couple More examples of them Being badass or super hard to kill Besides the Din fight.

What’s the Maclunkey thing?

Can anyone recommend some good Switch point and click adventure games? Got my mom a switch snd she loved the Professor Layton games on the DS, so I’m looking for something along those lines.
She doesn’t play a ton of games, right now just a ton of Animal Crossing, so nothing too complex. I know there’s a Grimm Fandango Remaster but it’s been forever since I played it and I can’t remember has accessible that game is. Any help is appreciated, thanks guys!

Yeah I would have ZERO issues if I had a Boss that lit into his staff that way. If you listen to the whole thing he is 100% looking out for everyone in that entire production. He’s the executive producer not just the star. Keeping that production going and those people employed is literally his job.

My 360 was the only console(including my 100 hours on PS5 so far) that I ever had any issue with. Never even had a problem with a controller that wasn’t my own fault. Hell I had a game boy color that got left outside through a rain storm and still worked.
Ya’ll just need to take better care of your stuff 🤷🏻♂️

Needed that USB stick thing to access the info. So he did need a “password” or “key”. Ya know, like when in the movies they had stolen old access codes to be allowed to land places.

I mean there’s a little high and mighty that pokes its head through but for the most part he’s 100% right. Maybe it Tom Cruise was president when this app started we’d be in a lot better place right now haha

Ehh the jump from PG to PG-13 is not as big as people like to make it out to be. People like to get hung up on the idea that a certain level of edge is needed to create cool, compelling drama which is 100% not true. If most of the cast is back and the writing is true to the spirit of the original then this will be good.
But as much as I enjoy Firefly, I’m not sure I really care anymore about the story being pushed forward.

Nice, I’ll watch it now. Like others im already paying for Netflix, Amazon, D+, HBO, WWE and Shudder. So I’m all set on streaming services.

Rian Johnson didn't do ther series any favors. He turned General Hux into pure comedy relief...he ruined the character so bad they had to give him a comedy sendoff. That's why Thrawn is so admired...he wasn't scared of Vader or other force users..one of the things I liked about many of the novels is that the military leadership of the Empire/Former Empire and their arcs was really interesting. That's why Moff Gideon is getting a lot of positive buzz thus far in the Mandalorean.....personally..I don't think Abrahms or Johnson understood Star Wars at the level they needed to in order to craft their stories or not nearly as much as Dave Filoni.
The good thing is that there is a lot of room for expanded stories post Episode 9 that

Yeah the scene where they’re flying through fireworks was amazing. I looked at my wife and said “THIS is why we spent the money for this TV” 😂😂
I would disagree about 84 being a pointless setting. The socio-economic and political climate of that period was essential to the themes and motivation of everyone. And I enjoyed that it wasn’t an over the top 80’s nostalgia Bomb.
I don’t think it was 35 min too long. But I do think there was 35 wasted minutes. If that makes sense. The two opening scenes should have been something different. You could have conveyed the messages of the race and the mall fight in much smaller scenes. The entire opening should have given us more backstory/context of the stone. Maybe show us it leading to the destruction of one of those earlier civilizations. Mention or show the god that created it. Give us Pablo’s backstory earlier in the film so we understand his motivations earlier. The concept of it being a monkeys paw and not just wish granting device was introduced wayyyy to late.
I think by the end of the film all that stuff had been conveyed and was clear. But it all comes way to late which leaves the beginning feeling like everything was happening randomly and just out of convience to the plot.
