Great video. They summed it up by saying "If you played Cyberpunk on the next gen consoles initially through backwards compatability, you're not gonna get much out of this update." That's how I played it so this is definitely on the back burner for me... if I EVER get around to replaying it.

this is what I was looking for. I played it on XSX.  Next time I jump in will be if/when they release a big Witcher 3 style DLC.

Well I preordered it to get into the beta, and just because I love Battlefield so I was excited to play it for hundreds of hours like I have with previous games. I thought it would be a rough launch sure, but most Battlefield games are, but they'll patch and smooth things out. I certainly didn't think it would take this long. In hindsight, yeah I was probably in a bit of denial from people warning not to preorder because we hadn't seen much gameplay, and the beta was so late, and I shouldn't have bought it.

I don't think it's beyond repair though. I don't hate it as much as some others, but it certainly needs work. They could restrict specialists to the class they're stated as, and restrict them to gadgets usually associated with those classes. They could make specialists super characters like the heroes in Battlefront II, and your regular soldier is a customizable soldier like they were in Battlefield V with classes. They could make specialists just skins like the operators in the current CoDs are, and they make the specialist gadgets and abilities able to be used by anyone, but restricted by class. Imagine being able to combine the grapple hook with the wing suit, but you have to be an assault class to do so. Combine the drone with the spotting anyone who shoots you for recon.

It would be a lot to work on, no doubt, but it might actually be worth it for EA to make this a No Man's Sky like success story, rather than another Anthem type failure. Abandoning the game would ruin the franchise long term. The next game would suffer.

what youre speaking of is balancing. That all can be fixed. When I say the core of this game is broken - its the map design, the UI, the stupid mid-game attachment wheel…its all terrible. To fix all that is to completely redo the game.

im a huge BF fan I would love to eat my words, but I dont see it.

Given that I payed $60 USD plus tax for this game, I would very much prefer it did get fixed, thank you very much. :p

oof. After all the negative feedback, ability to try for 10Hrs through EA….sometimes ya gotta own your mistakes!

in all seriousness, I really dont see what the can do here to salvage this game. The bugs sure, but the core of this game is fundamentally broken. It would need FF XIV levels of repair to fix it and EA is def not doing that.

I believe so, don't think there was ever a $10 option just to upgrade, had to buy the Expansion as well.  It did receive a free 60fps update though on PS5, not sure if it also got a resolution bump for free.

so the $30 includes the DLC as well?

seems like a giant simmering crock of shit i need to spend $30 when all i want is the enhancements to the PS5 version. $10 bux i would be OK with.

  5. Finished GOTG last night. My feelings about the game that I stated in previous posts havent changed. Its just an absolutely fun romp the entire time. The banter is just incredible and brings the characters to life and really set this game as something truly unique. I hope we see this in other games as well. The gameplay definitely got better, but still not amazing. the huddle mechanic was cool, but i never quite got the hang of it and i think i would fuck it up more often then get it correct. I really love how the earlier choices I made came back in the end and actually had an impact. I dont think it changed the overall outcome, but it was cool to see how it unfolded. Very Mass Effectish (perhaps even more impactful than 3!).

I realized I just played 3 outstanding sci-fi games back-to-back. Rift Apart, Andromeda and GOTG. Each unique in their own way and all were excellent.

Now the question is what to play next. Im probably 30% of the way in on Valhalla and Id like to finish it. Or do I restart Ghost of Tushima on PS5 (only got about 2hrs in on PS4). I dont really want to be playing anything when Forbidden West drops, bc I am definitely jumping right in to that.

I've already bashed it enough on here but I simply think the whole game feels awkward and lacking at a core level. It's like a gimped RE4 with a more limited moveset shoved into an outdated FPS template or something, pretty much just like you said. The opening segment is a prime example of how hard they were leaning into the RE4 nostalgia without seemingly understanding even a quarter of the stuff that made that game's village opening so fucking good. That marriage thing you said is the exact problem I have with it. It's the weaker aspects of both worlds combined in some weird hodgepodge that just doesn't work for me.

The review scores and reception is baffling to me, really. I actually liked, what I played of it at least, RE6 more than this, at least the gameplay was legit.

is this Hunt: Showdown youre talking about? I guess its not worth playing afterall?

Played 3 more hours of Valhalla. It's really polished now and it looks and runs amazingly well on the xsx. It's a damn good game I don't care what anyone thinks.

Im almost done with GOTG (on chapter 13) and I was thinking of going back to Valhalla  after Im done. My only concern is I dont want to get open-world burnout right before Forbidden West drops. As for Valhalla, I have 34hrs clocked in already

    Spoiler

Im just after that first Midgard section that really felt like a slog running around collecting all those things (forget what they were) for 3 skills points. lol

but in typical AssCreed fashion, I get to a point where i feel like: ok, this basically what this game has to offer, nothing is going to be a significant change for the next 20-30hrs. I then just stop playing and never go back. Have done that with every single one except AssCreed II which I finished and actually 100%. I have no idea why THAT one did it for me..but I absolutely loved it.

i saw this and switched to ray tracing.

this game is really beautiful and just plain fun.  Im on chapter 7 now and Im smiling the entire time im playing. Ive never card so much about characters before. The banter really brings them to life and i think really makes this game stand apart from other action games. The combat is growing on me more but I still dont find it amazing.

  9. I think My TCL S-Series in my bedroom is starting to go. The image seems very dark, but its intermittent.

I have an 65 LG OLED. I think its a B7A. It still plays flawlessly. Hundreds of hours of gaming and zero burn in. Im thinking of moving this to my bedroom if my TCL shits the bed.

Where my 65” OLED is now, my viewing distance is 10.5’ so I think a 77” is the perfect size. What is the difference between the CX and C1?

  10. Started Guardians of the Galaxy yesterday. Played through the 1st mission. Visuals are incredible. The banter is amazing and hilarious. The gameplay is so-so.

Question for people playing on a next-gen console - what graphical setting did you go with? For a game like this I dont care about 60FPS. So Im using quality mode now, but wondering if the ray tracing mode is a noticeable difference.

I enjoyed Andromeda.  The story wasn't as good, there were no Quarians, and I think they missed a big opportunity by not introducing more new aliens(they were in a whole new galaxy), but I still had a good time.  The combat was the best of any ME game to date.

I was feeling the same way through the game but the story kinda explains it in a roundabout way

    Spoiler

The fact that the Angaran were created by the jardaan/Remnant means maybe that in that galaxy, there was no other intelligent life. So what happened to the Jardaan?

However, what actually was Meridian, and the vaults true purpose? where did the jardaan go?  And why did they need to create the angarans?

I think this probably would’ve been answered in whatever sequels they might have had planned (same for answering what the scourge was and where it came from)

  12. Just finished Mass Effect: Andromeda. <3  Ive been incredibly hooked on this game and havent been able to play anything else. In the end it was really an awesome game. the last mission was jaw-dropingly beautiful. It almost feels like they lead the design of the game with that and said how do me make a story around this? Lol. ME:A was not without its fault. I still came across some bugs (load screen), environmental obstacles, etc. It got a little long in the tooth in the middle (the back and forth on Kadara), but none of it detracted from the overall experience.

I finished with all planets at 100% and 86% total for Helios. Around 50hrs even. This was the perfect amount for me bc If I continued to try and do every side mission or task i probably wouldve burned out.  this was every bit of a ME game and Im sad it got shelved before they could release the DLC. Although I am now really excited for the new ME game.

if you bailed out on this game bc of the launch issues, I strongly suggest giving it another go.

now its time for Guardians of The Galaxy

From what I know, we wouldn't be able to team up, no. But PS4/PS5 team could be facing an XB team for example I think? Gotta look into tomorrow

    Edit: yea here it is

Killer, will do tomorrow. Have you been playing? I highly suggest checking out some YT videos on better aim settings for PS5, the default sucks. Also go with the Gunslinger control scheme

I havent even tried it yet. My brother in law plays on PS4 and hes been telling me to grab it. Ill check out YT in a little bit.

  14. Deep into Mass Effect: Andromeda and the more I play, the better it gets. This is every bit of a Mass Effect game and Im so glad I gave it another chance.

When Im taking a break from ME:A, Im playing some Hell Let Loose, my shooter of the year for sure.

  15. I followed wario64 and sololinks on twitter. I turned on to receive all notifications from them. It sucked with the amount of notifications I was getting, but during the rush last year at launch I got 3 PS5 and 8-9 XSX. Gave them all to friends and family at cost. Lots of smiling faces on Christmas morning.
